revenge of the jedi card backs
« on: April 24, 2006, 11:02 PM »
hello,
First post so I hope the answer to this wasn't overlooked in my search.

were all the revenge of the jedi free figure offers on the ESB figure cards for nein nunb?
I've looked around ebay and a few other sites and that is all I seem to find.

the boba fett cardback I have has Admirall Ackbar on it and so far I can't find another one with him on it.

are these worth any money, all of the area behind where the figure would be mounted is torn off, like they seemed to do back then, but otherwise the card is in EC with some slight wear on the edges and someone wrote 2:14 and 1:00 on it in the silver band that runs around the card.

I'd post a pic, but I am not very net savy.  :-[
thank you for the time and help in advance.

Welcome to JD unkempt1. Sorry, I'm not an expert in this field. From what I know from looking on the Toysrgus Archive, all the Revenge poofs have the Nein Nunb offer.

Revenge of the Jedi Proof Card Checklist

Same with the BOBA FETT PROTOTYPE PROOF CARD

I have not been able to find one searching with an Admirall Ackbar offer, the 2:14 and 1:00 sounds to me like how would I say this an engineering/production/quality control sample.

If you wish, you can send me a pic at the addy below & I can host it for you.  :)

Thank you for the offer on the hosting. I will send a pic of both sides in just a few minutes.

I have had this card since I was a kid so I know it isn't a repro or anything. just thought it was strange to have AA and not NN on it.

thank you for the welcome, links and help

Scott

from the toysrgus site

Quote
Since the title of the film was changed to Return of the Jedi before any toys were actually released, no packaging with this logo was distributed to stores.

some must have made it to the stores, mine had boba fett mounted on it LOL

could it be a one of a kind?

Oh please say yes  ;D

Back in the day (1990's) it seemed like every dealer thought they were sitting on a gold mine with these "Revenge" cardbacks.
They tried to sell them as "rare" or "hard to find" items.
Truth is they are quite common, and many carded collectors actually prefer the offerless cards to these.

D'oh! I should read threads to the end before looking up links. LOL

It's already been said that the card is a used 48C printed Ackbar offer figure. Used cardbacks like that normally sell for $1-3 at most. If it were a really rare cardback or torn cleanly you may have gotten a premium. I paid $20 or $25 years ago for a Palitoy (UK Distributor) Fett cardback where the bubble fell off pretty clean and was included with the auction. Aside from a situation like that you won't get any more. In fact, the writing on the border will take the price down even more.

Thanks for the info.

Looks like it'll have to stay here at that price
