Star Wars Marvel Style- PIC HEAVY
« on: April 28, 2006, 10:49 PM »
Hi All

I'm a member on a forum called the fwooshnet.

any way there is a guy called Glorbes and he makes some of the most excellent customs that I've seen. He started doing Marvel Style SW figures and has added he's own unique style to them and I was in awe when I saw them and just had to show them to you all.

Stormtrooper

Darth Vader

Boba Fett

Yoda

Ron

HOLY CRAP!!  :o

Those are way cool... except for Yoda... something's just... off about him. The head mostly. But the others are way too cool. Are those made with the Marvel Legends figures as a base?

Those are very creative & imaginative - i can't say i have ever seen anything quite like those, in the marvel style.

my fave of them all has to be the Vader. it reminds me of mcquarrie's original drawings and designs derived from samurai helmets and battle gear. the paint apps, soft goods and sculpting on it are amazing!

thanks for sharing with us :)

Very nice work... The Vader is definately my favorite! I agree that Yoda's head is kinda messed up. Reminds me of Space Balls.

Damn Hemble... talk about awesome stuff.  Funny how well these seem to fit in with the SW Universe while being different.

Stormtrooper - That rocks my friend.  In fact it could really pass for another division of Stormies with different armor.  Ureal how cool that looks.

Vader - Same goes for Vader, it has an ancient samuri feel to him also, which looks very real for him.  And man his mask looks mean!

Boba Fett - I could truly see him having a secondary outfit like this, wow.

Yoda - Looks great, although I agree his forehead does protrude out a bit.  But it's still awesome.

Now, this is something Hasbro should look into.  They keep wanting to make all these crazy sublines that in all honesty are plain stupid, but you turned out something here that would work as a subline.  They should be calling you Monday morning to set up an interview.   ;)

That Yoda may be better suited as an Even Piell

hey fine chewie

The stormie Looks real cool but way different than what we are used to seeing, Darth Vader has that medevil  vibe to him and Boba Looks like how I would imagine the Mando Super commandos.

I didn't really mean that directed at you or anyone in particular Smarty.  A few people had kind of put down the Yoda (which is fine to suggest it could be better) but I was surprised to see that when someone isn't mentioning something positive about it or the other figures.  I'm sure Hemble doesn't mind either way as he appreciates all feedback, I was just pointing that out.  Mainly I hope we don't get a new customizer in here that shows his work, and only gets negative feedback which I think would turn new people off.  No harm done at all though.  And I agree that that head could work for Even Piell.

I think these guys all look awesome (even Yoda).   Sure Yoda is the most "different" but he's still a cool looking figure.  My favorite is easily Darth Vader.  I'd love to see a McQuarrie concept Vader figure made.

Maybe that's a good project for one of our resident master sculpters (Glassman?  Jedi_Master_Ben?)

Hemble - thanks for sharing the other people's cross over works!

Wonderful. I like the Fett the best. The Vader looks version looks very concept-like. The only thing I don't like is the heads seem to small for the bodies. Great detail of detail though.

Sorry for sort of putting down Yoda and not commenting on the other figures. That Sandtrooper looks great, reminds me of the 98' Spacetrooper. I love Vader's samurai look too.

WOW!  These are some of the most imaginative figures I've EVER seen.

The Vader is simply mind-blowing.  My only minor gripe:  Stormtrooper's "face" seems a bit pinched and Fett's helmet should be just a tad longer.  But these are really lovely, very well stylized, creative in their design and masterfully executed.

Well done.
