Check out what you get if you buy the DELUXE Metal Gear Solid bundle...

Limited edition gun metal gray finish.  It makes me wish I didn't already own one.

Holy freakin' Hell... Sony goes to the mattresses!

Sony is releasing a 40-Gig Grand Theft Auto 4 bundle in the UK and Australia at no additional cost over the standard 40-Gig console!  That's just brutal.  For people who don't already own a console, which do you choose?  PS3 with Blu-ray and GTA4, or 360 with el-zilcho?

Well played, Sony.  Well played.

I picked up a DualShock3 earlier this week.  It rumbles.  It's nice.  Can't wait to play MGS4 with it.   ;D

Anything they can do to try to counter Microsoft's exclusive downloadable content. . .

Yeah, I still don't understand that move my Microsoft.  They spent $50 million to get a 10-hour add-on quest that won't even be available for 6 months.  You'd think for $50 million they could have had the content ready on day one so it could be used as an actual selling point.  Now it's like... "And 6 months from now you'll be able to dust off this game that you haven't touched in forever and play it for another 10 hours... for only $19.95!!"  I don't know, maybe they're hoping it'll push consoles over Christmas.

Oh, Bill. . .

I'd love to know what you'd say if the ball was in the other court and Sony had the DLC instead.  I'm sure you'd say the exact same thing, right?

Seeing how I haven't purchased any of the DLC offered for any of the other games I own... ah-yup.

I absolutely loved Oblivion.  I sunk at least 100 hours into it.  I played every side quest.  But I'm not going to drop the cash for Shivering Isles.  I haven't touched the game in months, and really am not that interested in picking it up again.

But hey, believe what you want.

You may not be interested in DLC, but you're the biggest Sony fanboy around, and I can't help but think that if the tables were turned, you'd rather Sony have that content than Microsoft, no matter if you were ever interested in it personally or not.

Sure, it'd be nice for Sony to have it.  But they'd have to be pretty stupid to pay $50 million for it.

How much did it cost to create GTA IV?  About $50 million?  The cost to produce the top-notch games are in the millions, but I don't think I've seen a single game cost that much.  Perhaps, based on the payouts thrown around for the HD movie market, that payout could/should have resulted in GTA IV being exclusive to the 360, it would be a bit more understandable.  But for some DLC?  Especially if the DLC isn't available for another 6 months?  Based on that time frame, Take Two probably only began work on it this year.

Nice to have, but I personally wouldn't pay more than $10 for any DLC.  I've purchased Warhawk, GHIII, Motorstorm and some complete games for less than $10.  I still have a problem paying anything for something I see as material that should have been in the original shipped game. :-\

Grand Theft Auto IV is just 5 days away.  Some comparison comments are in...

http://planetgrandtheftauto.gamespy.com/

You'll need to scroll down to Morning GTA IV News

The choice quote:

Quote
Interesting indeed, I myself - who is a big fan of the Xbox 360 - will be getting the PlayStation 3 version, as I've read and heard personally from people who have played the game already that this version is undoubtedly superior to the Xbox 360. Granted, not as much that I would recommend going out to buy a PS3 console if you have a 360 already. Too bad that episodic content is Xbox exclusive, is Take-Two/Rockstar regretting that decision now?

It looks like Microsoft got to them and forced them to print an explanation of that quote, stating both "offer superior graphics" without stating which is better. But if there are differences, they won't be able to keep it quiet much longer.

I've decieded to pick it up, since I'm done with my other action/adventure games (Uncharted, Sword, & Creed).

I'm really looking forward to the online multiplayer part of the game.

IGN gave it straight 10s.  I don't think that's ever happened before.

Bill... any idea if they'll make a GTA bundle with the PS3? Something similar to the Metal Gear, even?
