You'll get 25 bucks for it. No more than that. A thin one, maybe 50

Yeah it does.

They offered me $45 for the new slim (black) version.

Not sure about the older one - I'd be willing to bet it's closer to $30.

I don't think you would get much more on ebay unless you though in some games.

But seriously, I've come very close to trading in my old PS2 on that new PS3 MGS4 bundle pack many times...

How much store credit do they even give for the PS2?  I've also got the old fat one.  Not sure if that matters or not.

Can't you check that on their website ?

$35 for the fat one and $40 for slim.  There's also a $20 bonus promo going on until 8/10.  Bonus not added yet.

What's the bonus - and what do you mean it's not added?  I feel like an old man when it comes to video games nowadays.  I used to be "hardcore" back in the NES/SNES days.   :-[

I'll eventually get a PS3 probably moreso for the BluRay player since I'm still watching my DVDs on my PS2, but I'm always a few years behind these days simply because I refuse to pay $300-$600 for a system and $50+ for new games.

Wow, that image is sick!

We've still only got 2 PS3 games and I constantly find myself doing a double take when I look over and glimpse the screen.

PS2 fat $35 + bonus $20 = $55.

That's what I meant sorry about the confusion.

Guess what Criterion uses as their reference Blu-ray player...  ;D

That's Criterion... the folks who make Criterion Collection DVDs and Blu-rays.  The best of the best, as it were.

Say Bill, can I use the controller as a remote when I watch a Blu-ray movie?

Also, I've spotted 'special' Sony PS3 HDMI cables that runs close to $55 - are they really required or can I just settle for an off-brand?

You can use the controller as a remote, but it doesn't have all the specialized functions.  But if you're just interested in watching and pausing from time to time, it's fine.

Any HDMI cable will work equally well.  Since the data is digital and not analog, there is no degradation except under extremely long cable runs (like 50 feet or more).

http://www.monoprice.com/ is a good place to look.  You can get a 6' HDMI cable for about $9 shipped.

GameTrailers.com has a ton of videos that are worth watching.

http://www.gametrailers.com/game/4491.html

Basically, it comes with 50 pre-built levels.  But you can also create your own, or play levels created by other users.  It's a wide-open development platformer.
