Phoenix's customs - UPDATED 6/12/06!
« on: May 14, 2006, 11:18 AM »
And to celebrate the start of my custom topic, I present you the members of the Order!

No, not the Jedi Order, but the Order of the Phoenix, which will appear eventually in the Henry Phoenix saga. ;)

(almost) All members:

President of the Order:

The President is a simple non-permanent custom.
Recipe:
Head: Saga 2002 Qui-Gon Jinn
Right Hand: ROTS #02/TSC Anakin Skywalker
Body&left hand: ROTS #35 Palpatine

Curtis Manning is nothing special.
Recipe:
Head: ROTS Mace Windu
Tie: hand-made
Rest: Saga 2004 Admiral Ozzel

Jack Phoenix, the Order's Grand Master has gotten a bit older, but he's still powerful. The figure is WIP because I need to drill the head so that it can be used in a ball-joint head.
Recipe:
Head: ROTS #28 Anakin Skywalker (normal version)
Body: ROTS Mace Windu
Right Hand: Saga 2002 Qui-Gon Jinn
Left Hand: ROTS #28 Anakin Skywalker
Cape: TSC/500th Vader
Lightsaber hilt: Saga 2002 Deluxe Mace Windu
Lightsaber tip: Saga 2002 Bespin Duel Darth Vader

Rash Skyhek is just a random background character. Made from my old "Blue" custom figure&some leftover parts.
Recipe:
Body: POTF 2 Buff Han Solo
Left Hand: Saga 2002 Qui-Gon Jinn
Right Hand: some random hand from my fodder box
Head: Saga 2002 Bespin Duel Luke Skywalker
Blaster: Saga 2004 Admiral Ozzel

Red. You've seen his head before on Rebelscum. I changed totally Red's story and made him a member of the Order so I needed to change his outfit, too. He's a WIP too like Jack: I need to drill his head.
Recipe:
Body: Saga 2002 Qui-Gon Jinn
Arms&right hand: 500th/TSC Hoth wave Vader
Left Hand: Saga 2002 Bespin Duel Darth Vader
Lightsaber: Saga 2002 Pilot Obi-Wan

This is one of the most bizaar sets of customs that I've ever seen.  Thats some strange stuff.  I'm looking forward to your story line and where it goes!
NOTE TO HASBRO,
SA JANGO would sell quite well!

Agreed this is way bizaar. Are they suppost to be dead or just with battle damage? I like the Mace with the neck tie to best.

Interesting customs!  I like the use of the Vader arms on "Red".

Is "Order of the Phoenix" a reference to Harry Potter?

Phoenix some of these are a bit different but I am sure they will all find good homes in your photonovel series.  I suppose it will be a continuation of your earlier ones, which are similar to the "24" series, correct?

The Curtis Manning is my favorite one... especially the neck tie looks good on him.

Outrider&Master_Phruby: Well, maybe some paint schemes (sp?) (*cough*Henry*cough*) are a little bit weird and not fitting to the SW world.

Gregorbian: Yes, Order of the Phoenix is a reference to Harry Potter. ;)

CHEWIE: Yep, these character will appear in "Henry Phoenix" stories and those stories are like "life after CTU" etc. because Palpatine destroyed the original CTU. But before I'm starting Henry Phoenix stories, I need to post fourth CTU novel to here and to Scum too.

And a bit comment about some customs:
Rash Skyhek's head has been repainted. He no longer has those "blood stains" as in the pictures and his hair...well, when you see him, you're gonna ask:"Did he paint his hair or WTH?"  ::)

Red's head is Cantina Han with hair repainted red. And that it.  ;)

I still haven't got those knives I ordered from a internet store, so Red and Jack are headless...

But I wanted to make some customs and the results are here:

Galen Nire is a old Jedi master in the Order. Nothing too special.

Recipe:
Head: EP I Palpatine
Lightsaber: ROTS #28 Anakin Skywalker
The rest: EP I soft goods Obi-Wan Kenobi

And this is one of my personal favorites: captain Gregor McRae. The name and the look comes from the Gregor in "Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines" computer game. I really like that guy's voice and look and I thought the he'd make a good custom.
But the neckpost...argh, I need to find a better neckpost, really.

Head: Saga 2002 Qui-Gon Jinn
Helmet: EP I Anakin Skywalker/Ric Olié
The rest: EP I Ric Olié

Fitch is just another Jedi in the Order. Finally I found a good use for the ROTS #27 Obi-Wan. ;)

Recipe:
Head: EP I Ric Olié
The rest: ROTS #27 Obi-Wan Kenobi

And the Guardian is here. He's like a bodyguard for Jack. Too bad that the helmet is not fitting to Obi's head like it was fitting for Luke's head. :(

Recipe:
Head: EP I soft good Obi-Wan Kenobi
Blaster: Saga 2002 Luke Skywalker Bespin Duel
The rest: POFT2/SOTE Luke Skywalker in Imperial Guard Disguise

Nice work on these, Phoenix!  I especially like your customz of just "ordinary folks" like Curtis, Gregor, and Rash.  I'm looking forward to how your WIP of Jack will turn out too.  (The photos of figures holding their heads are very cute!)  This Jack seems to have some metallic silver accents in his hair... or is it just the photo?

Thanks Findswoman! :)
I gotta say that I like those ordinary people quite a lot.
Yes, Jack has some silver hair. It's trying to represent grey hair that older people usually have, since Jack's getting older. But if I only could get a new ROTS #28 Anakin head, then I would probably be able to complete WIP Jack. But he'll have a totally new body then.

But onto customs:

Henry Phoenix - the main hero of the "Henry Phoenix" saga

Of course it would be fitting to give our hero at least a second outfit (what's he going to wear when he needs to wash the another outfit?), since photonovel heroes usually have quite a lot of outfits (Rykrof, anyone? ;)).

Recipe:
Head: 2002 Saga Deluxe Dooku
Torso: EP I Darth Maul
Arms&cape: Saga 2002 Qui-Gon Jinn
Hands: Saga 2002 Chancellor Palpatine
Legs: EP I Qui-Gon Jinn (Naboo Swamp)

Xentor Helros - a Falleen scientist/researcher in the Order

I just finished him today since I got some green paint. His recipe is quite simple, but a lot of painting was involved. I personally think that this is one of my most succesful custom figures ever. :D

Recipe:
Head: SOTE/POTF2 Prince Xizor
The rest: EP I Palpatine

(And when someone thinks that these figures are bizarre/weird/stupid/etc. I would like to hear what in them makes them so weird. Thanks. ^^)

Well that's a compleatly valid request! Unfortunately for you, I happen to like these two ;)

I really like the spotty beard on Henry (who looks good over all). And I have to agree with you on your thoughts on Xentor Helros! He looks great.

Nice use of parts, even the Jedi-Kick Obi-Wan (man, I hate that figure, but your custom turned out well  :P)

I would consider changing the color scheme on the Guardian figure, maybe even reversing the black and red (kind of like Kir Kanos and ... damn, brain fart, forget the other guy's name...  :-\)

I agree with your comments about Xentor, he looks great.  The parts go together very well and he looks "factory"

Nice update!

Wait a second,

I posted that these customs were bizaar which is not in any way to be interpreted as stupid.   That term was never intended to be a negative comment about your work at all.

I used the term bizaar to illustrate that several of your customs do not fit into traditional SW character profiles.  Here's a synopsis of why I believe your custom work is bizaar NOT STUPID

Curtis Manning- A very cool concept for a custom figure but I've never seen an earth based necktie on an imperial officer before.  Also his name is in my opinion an earth based name which makes it a tad unorthodox in the SW galaxy.  In no way should this be misinterpreted as negative.  Its unique to your version of the SW universe and I look forward to your series- thats all I meant

Another example of bizaar would be your General Jack Phoenix figure pics.  He's holding his own head in the pics.  Its a rather bizaar set of pics in my opinion to see a figure holding his own melon.  Thats a rather unique ability that I've not ever seen regarding a custom character.

You have every right to create these characters and as stated before I look forward to reading their place in the SW universe.   I never meant to infer that I didn't like your work.  I can honestly say that your work has a look and feel thats quite different than many I've seen.

(Yes I do remember that the names Luke and Leia are earth based, My son is Luke and my sister is Leia, -no lie ;D)

NOTE TO HASBRO,
SA JANGO would sell quite well!

Outrider: Take it easy, pal! I wasn't trying to flame you nor anyone else. That word was just an example, that's all. ;)

But now...I have some new customs completed (finally!):

The Dark Acolytes. They're like Jack's padawan learners...almost, but not quite. There are 4 of them, but I didn't have a good head for the 4th body, so the 4th guy is just an Anakin. ^^;

Red - the Acolyte Leader. As always, nothing special, just a head swap.

Recipe:
Head: Cantina Han (not TSC version, but some of the older versions)
Rest: ROTS #02 Anakin Skywalker

Luigi - one of the Acolytes. All I did here was just repaint the head. Not even a head swap.  :P

Close-up of Luigi's head:

Teuvo - one of the Acolytes. Again, just a head swap.
Oh yeah, Teuvo is a Finnish male name.

Recipe:
Head: ROTS #27 Jedi Kick Obi-Wan Kenobi
Rest: ROTS #02 Anakin Skywalker

Felon Yorker raided Jack Phoenix's wardrobe and what did he find? Well, a photo tells more than 1000 words...

Recipe:
Head: Saga 2002 Rykrof Enloe
Rest: Cantina Han

And may I introduce you...Grand Master of the Order, Master's Master...JACK PHOENIX!
I planned originally to put the head on a ROTS Kit Fisto body, but I wasn't so sure was it going to fit and since it had not yet arrived, I decided to use an EP I Jedi body.

Recipe:
Head: ROTS #28 Anakin Skywalker
Neck peg-thingy: EP I Palpatine
Rest: EP I soft goods Obi-Wan Kenobi
