SW Saga Tins: 087-06-0534 - $24.99

If they are just more repackaged figures in a fancy tin, even if they are the VOTC or VTSC figures, I'll pass.

I am sick of repacks/rereleases no matter what the way, shape, or form.  :-\

I doubt they will be VOTC/VTSC but I will hold on getting some of those to find out.

Ok, unless these are great figures, then I say PASS, with a capital P.

I dunno, I could see myself getting the OT tins only.  But that price is steep for sure.

People keep saying the price is steep, but I don't get it. $25 for 4 figures? Doesn't that come out to be a little over $6 a figure? That's not steep, certainly not if these figures are the SA VOTC.

Knowing Hasbro, the figures will be packed in a retarded fashion, but I was trying to think of good duo's, anyway...

ANH
Luke + Sandperson
Obi-Wan + Vader
Han + Greedo

ESB
R2 + C3PO
Chewbacca + Lando
Luke (X-Wing) + Stormtrooper

ROTJ
Han + Biker
Boba Fett + ???

Something's throwing me off - if they are going to use only VOTC sculpts, then what are they going to use for the prequel sets?

Brad,
When I mention steep in reference to the price, I mean for re-released figures I don't really need.  If they were new or newer kitbashed figures I'd think it a great deal.  But the cynical side says they won't be VOTC (as per ruiner's question above for one reason), they certainly won't be new and probably won't be kitbashes.  So for something I already have, it's kind of steep.  There's even a part of me that thinks it'll only be two figures per tin, not four, I don't care what the press release says :P

I like the idea of potentially getting more VOTC figures for a somewhat lower price, but I have a feeling Hasbro is screwing with us with that prototype image. Instead of getting VOTC figures, we'll get crap like 500th Vader/Throne Room Luke, Final Battle Jango Fett/Little Boba Fett, or Commtech Han/POTJ Biker Scout.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Exactly!  It seems that the VOTC scupt rumor is so that we do not feel taken from the start.  Clearly there are not going to give us VOTC style prequel figures in the year of the repack.

I fear that like most DVD stuff these will be crap filled.

And I think Morgbug has a good point too.  This year's pricing structure would lead us to believe that these are not four packs but two.

Four figures with a tin does not make sense at $25, especially at Target (see VTSC and $13 Lava figures).

It says in the article that there will be four figures in a tin. Please, read it before you complain.

Ahh...I see now. 4 figures for 25 is a much better deal.

Right, we know that.  But things have been known to either change or be incorrect.  The report on RS is NOT an official announcement therefore I take it with a grain of salt.

You must admit, a commemorative tin with four figures and fancy packaging sounds too good to be true at $25 retail.

Maybe it's supposed to be $25 cost and a $49.99 retail?

Right you are..yesss! Read first.

If they are all regurgetated sculpts hopefully we can get some craptastic repaints out of it:
Boba Fett in ESB colors :D
StormTrooper Battle worn :D
Chewie Hoth Syle snow clumps on fur as seen before ???
Han with gloves and headset ???
Luke with headset :-X
Leai Trash compacter sludge :P
R2 dirty :P
Luke Xwing ESB style slightly tweaked. (Use the upcoming VOTC Bepin Luke head)
