The Leia & Rebel are the only things that ruin the ROTJ set IMO.I hate all POTF2 except for Commtech Stormies. Hasbro should stop re-packing figures from that line.

Seriously. The difference between what they're doing now and what they did 8-10 years ago is night and day.

The rebel soldier doesn't bother me so much since he has a new head sculpt. I'm a sucker like that.

I like the idea, but I wish it had come MUCH earlier in the line. I can't justify $25.00 for most of them, because I have so many of the figures already. I like the cantina set, and I may end up passing on the rest.

Here's my problem: It's a great concept on some levels. Combine the nostalgia of the lunch boxes  and poster art with selling toys. So, it follows that it is marketed at collectors. But the collectors have most of the toys in them, and don't want to pay $25 for a mini lunch box. Well, at least I don't. I like them, but not $25 worth of like. Sell the tins separately for $5-6 each, and I probably go for them.

Agreed, although I'd say the CommTech Stormies never need be rereleased again with the now-superior-and-underutilized VOTC sculpt around.  In my eyes, there is no figure from the POTF2 days (1995-2000) that is good enough to be released alongside present-day figures.  After going back through my POTF2 collection over the past few weeks, I'm struck at how completely silly looking the vast majority of the figures are.  To me, the POTF2 stuff is a million times worse than the preposed Saga 2002 garbage, because at least those were decent likenesses of the characters they were based on.

That said, outside of wanting another 2 Evolutions Anakins from the ROTS tin set, and maybe the Clone Lieutenant out of the AOTC set, I'll probably be going OT only with these.  That TPM tin is going to be collecting more dust than anything else come the holidays, and it will probably get blown out for about 5 bucks at Target next winter in the clearance aisle.

We've got some spiffy shots of the new "30th Anniversary Tins" just in on our front page...

Clicky the Button To Read Story

The Tin sets have grown on me actually, but from a customizing POV for the most part.  I certainly can use the extras in the sets (or most anyway), and I love the tins, they're gorgeous...  I'm exciting about some of the regular figures though like the Lt. Clone, the Red Astro...  Jango's even a nice placeholder for a regular standing Jango that is semi-decent looking.

We've got 2 tins up though for Attack of the Clones and The Phantom Menace so go have yerselves a looksee.

I may not buy an opener set of the PT ones at all, even with the clones unique clones.
