TRU Exclusive TSC TIE Fighter

Sports a sweet Kenner white paintjob, but still includes the POTF2 TIE Crewman. Hope it doesn't retail for less than $40, or I'll feel screwed that I shelled out that much for the 2005 one.

If it retails for less I might try to buy one. I don't have any tie fighters, and I'm itching to make Luke and Mara in tiefighter pilot disguise customs. I might do better to try to find some kind of used POTF2 Tie Fighter or some such for $20 or less, though.

It looks kinda gray to me, though. Is it whiter than it appears in the pictures, or is the brightness inaccurate to the films in some way?

If you're willing to spend $20 on an old one, and this one ends up being around $30, you ought to shell out an extra $10 and just get it, you'll be happy you did.

I was hoping for more of a white on this though, like the vintage white one.

I'm not a vehicle guy, but I'm starting to think if I have a gunship hanging in my room I really ought to have an X-Wing and a TIE.

If I start collecting ships, I'm gonna shoot myself.

Depending on price I'll probably end up picking up 2 since I didnt get the 2005 one.

That's nice and all - but seriously, throw in the better TIE Pilot and I'll consider buying one.

I'm gonna aim for two myself I think, perhaps three, but definitely two as I love this ship...  It's to-scale (depending on your POV of the models from the film and other materials on TIE's) and is really a nice ship...

The price is gonna be what determines how many I can buy though ultimately.  I never lucked into clearanced Target TIE's and only got two so this one I'm hoping is more abundant and (more importantly) cheaper.  For $30 I'd buy 3.

As far as the deco goes, it's a nice film accurate grey instead of white so I'm perfectly happy with that.  The Kenner TIE and X-Wing from 78 were never accurate in color so I don't prefer nods to a bygone time...  Accuracy is more important to me there.  The light grey paintjob isn't my favorite deco of the ship (I prefer the later blue-grey hulls) but still this means you need at least TWO to flank a (hopefully) grey Vader's TIE that gets out at some point.

Glad this one is the one their reissuing, but bummed they would even consider using the  POTF2 sculpt on the pilot. As for the price, I hope it lower because I'd like to see people who couldn't afford the earlier one pick one up.

I'm happy to see that this one will maybe be getting re-released as well.  I saw it once or twice the first time around at Target, but we were a little tight on the budget at the time so I had to pass.  Hopefully I can pick it up this time around, as it looks like an amazing ship.  I like the paint color as well.

Maybe it is me but it looks like the average blue/grey color to me.

I always thought the true white one was kool, though I have seen too many with the yellow plague.

Yeah, oddly enough I actually like the white color on the TIE fighter.  Must be the vintage toy I remember playing with as a kid.  Kind of like the blue Hoth Han Solo.

White? It really does not look white, its more of a greyish blue............

I'm colorblind for the most part and I don't think I see any white in the photos shown.

I might pick this one up...I'm a little bummed on the POTF2 Pilot though, when they have the far superior SAGA TIE Pilot...
