Darth_Anton's Imperial Base Update 9/6
« on: June 23, 2006, 10:26 PM »
Using makeshift materials, I constructed this "base" in the corner of my office. If I get a chance I'll take some more detailed photos, there's a lot of little "bits" going on. Also, didn't bother with lighting which helped to contribute to the soft focus, so my apologies. (The soft focus does hide the dust, so I guess that works in my favor. :P )

Basically, what you're looking at is a square table with FedEx boxes, covered in black standing upright, holding up a square mirror that's almost as big as the surface of the table. Cheep, I know, but I just don't have the time to make something more respectable.

I did make the Vader landing platform out of foam core.

I'd take a couple of those VOTC Stormies if you don't really need them.  ;D

Nice setup Anthony.
I remember my dream now.

This will be the first of many updates as I have taken almost a hundred detailed pictures of my base. Hopefully the images will be cleared and better lit so you can see all the dust in crystal clear clarity.

Sadly, the base had to come down the day I took the pictures to make room for my Mother-in-Law, who's moving in. :P

Nice set up, it looks great.  I really prefer seeing displays set up like yours than plain lines of imperials.  I know my extra DSG found a good home.

Cool set up, nice work!

Does the slide show of vader arriving present a metaphor for the new guest?  ;)

Impressive......most impressive.  That is a great way to display the collection.  I'm afraid the wife would have a stroke if she got a chance to see everything togeather at one time.   I can't wait to see the rebel and or Sep base! ;)

Thanks for the Kudos guys. I guess it's time for the next update: The Hanger.

Technically, Vader's fighter is below the hanger bay, but figured it fits well with the theme.

That's it. Short, I know, but the next update will be so big I'll probably have to break it up.

Next: the ground forces staging area...
