The one thing I would love to see them stop doing is making more than one figure of the same player. How many different Brett Favre, Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb figures do we really need? I'd rather see a brand new new player...

Unfortunately, McFarlane goes for players like those because they can sell them pretty well across the country....Keep in mind, most collectors only go out on the hunt looking for chase figures in a given set. The rest will collect dust until they hit clearance or a casual purchaser decides to buy that particular player.

I didn't see Drexler Rockets when I went back but I did see both Walter Payton and Oscar Robertson in 2 uniforms.

Unreal series.  Orr's uniform is game specific, so can't be a chase.  Just have to find the inevitable Jets Hull.  No way can TMP not do that since the WHA is why the Oilers are in the NHL.  Too historic to pass up. 8)

Quote
BOBBY HULL
Hull's blistering slapshot and thunderous body checks made him the toast of Chicago as the leader of the Blackhawks in the 1960s and into the 1970s. He shook up the hockey world by joining the fledgling WHA in 1972, helping establish Winnipeg as a hockey town.

This little phrasing from the release bodes well. :D

I think I'll have to order a case on this one.

I'm not a hockey collector, but a few of those look like they'll be leaners in a few weeks once they're opened.

You mean everything but Clarke and Gretzky? :P

Very cool series!  Finally McFarlane is doing a series that I think a lot of American hockey fans can get behind.  That Bobby Orr is very cool!

Does anyone still find Sportspicks in Target?

For me only TRU and KB stock them.

Apparently from what I was told, Target stopped carrying Sportspicks. They probably realized that they are nothing but pegwarmers...

My Target stopped carrying Sportspicks awhile ago and it looks like the same thing is happening with my Wally World's around here. The best place for these are at TRU or KB (which is the more expensive out of the two). In the past few years, I had gotten some great deals on SP's on amazon.com until they split with TRU.

Yeah that's right, Walmart stopped as well.  I do see a solid case of whoever the hometown player is though.  Last month I saw a solid brick of Gary Sheffield on the pegs.

It's really TRU that stocks these in abundance.  KB usually gets 1-2 cases of each wave as well.

Sportspicks is really the only thing I can rely on TRU for.
