NHL 9 arrived at Frank and Sons (local toy show) today.  The dealer my buddy works with was pulling retro Hull and Raycroft chase in the cases they had opened so far.  Since they hadn't gotten multiple assortments, they were holding off on opening any more.  I picked up regs of Datsyuk, Alfredsson, Sundin and Sakic.  He said Raycroft was the best selling reg today.

Well, found some chases today!  Saw on the Sports Board that some local So Cal guys were finding NHL at GameStops, so I hit 2 today and found:

2 red Datsyuk
1 Rangers Leetch
1 3rd jersey Sakic

Left one of the Datsyuks (not enough cash on me) and grabbed the Sakic to use in trade for a Wings Fedorov.

Found Adam Vinatieri the other day, but I don't collect these, so anybody needs him, shoot me a pm.

Damn, now I have to find the Rangers Leetch and 3rd jersey Sakic  :-\

I'm just trying to find Rangers Leetch and the Brodeur.  Good luck finding them around here.  I hear the Blues Hull is kind of cool though.

I only found one chase this series since I was out of town for the bulk of the release and I traded the Sakic for a blues Hull.  He's such a prick, but it does look good.

Nick, Brodeur is everywhere here.  I can't do much about a Rangers Leetch though, other than put you down as number two behind Dave who asked first.  I've got a crapload of trade bait, so I might be able to score two, but the spawn board being down is slowing the process.

They only started showing up here recently.  Hopefully I'll luck out at some point.  At least I keep my hockey collecting really limited.

But WTF is up with this?  ANOTHER Red Wings player in this series?  I swear, you could probably put together two full lines of Red Wings players with all the ones McFarlane has made.

Avs as well.

I can't really argue against Datsyuk though.  Good young player, bit of an offseason last year, but will be a rising star for sure.  I hate wings and actually like him.  Don't forget the retro Wing in the series, Federov.

A guy in town here is a big wings and avs fan, so he's about the happiest collector I know.  Open and sealed reg and chase for every figure from Avs and Wings except 3rd Roy and the early repaints.

My guess is every series will have a Leaf, Wing and an Av.   ::)  The only saving grace is the Canadian series' but they sometimes have two Leafs >:(

Only thing I'm worried about is the Jets Khabibulin.  I secretly hope for a Coyotes chase on that one, so I don't have to worry about it.

Red Wings have a huge fan base.  The figs sell.  That's why they make so many Yankee players.  Same reasons.

Datsyuk had an off year?  He led the team in scoring (not counting Lang who got most of his points in Washington.)

Yup, my bad.  I was thinking of Zetterberg who was injured for part of the year.

Agreed, Wings sell (though they tend to clearance around here) as do the Leafs and Avs.  There's just too damn many of them though (and Yankees as well).

Found some variants over lunch, but get this, they're from old series - Hawks Chelios, dark Hejduk.  Pretty funny to see really.

Found five basketball variants :o  Miller, Williams, James x2 and Carter.  All gone to my basketball collecting (and hockey supplying) buddy.

Regular (blue) Garnett is sitting up here, for now.

Too bad Vince Carter came out before he got traded to the Nets.  Oh well.

I've got Ranger's Leetch - 2 of them in transit shortly.  Dave and Nick, do you still want them?
