Personally I like the COTIV BP. The explosive diarhea deco doesn't bother me at least they are good sculpt rather than reusing the Commtech Trooper sculpt. They'll just be relegated to being displayed with my other Tatooine Troopers, dirty or otherwise.

Much to the shagrin of Jesse, I like the RFT  :o, I'll just admit now that I have 8 of them for army builders and to display with Cap. Antilles so a couple more with removable helmets is gravy to me. The Vader is a definate abortion considering the Evo. version being available again in the 30th Anniv. Tin.

I like how the Stormtroopers have new belts without the pouches. We really have to beg Hasbro for a running change to remove the poop. My guess is the Marketing guy felt that they would be lost in the very white package thus is why we have the Bantha spatter.
Great improvement to the troopers. I may buy 2 sets, depends. I am so sick of dirty troopers. A black blast effect would have been prefereable.

heh! 'roid' RFT. heh! funny... good one.  ;)  8)

yeah, the POTJ one actually rocks. it's quite good, when you look past the weird hands. i like the kneeling feature and how the hands come together at the blaster. very kool.

And there was much rejoicing!   From this week's Hasbro Q&A at JediDefender:

Quote
3. Early catalog images of the "Capture of Tantive IV" battle pack also appeared this week (so I'm sure you'll also see this question asked by someone else). Collectors are already asking about those Stormtroopers. Are they based on the VOTC sculpt or the Evolutions sculpt or something else entirely? Will the Stormtroopers be nice and clean or will they be "battle damaged" or dirty? The mock-up images make them look pretty dirty which is disappointing if true, everyone knows the Stormtroopers have shiny new armor; it's the rest of the imp troopers who get dirty.

** The figure is the Evo Stormtrooper sculpt. The troopers will be clean. The dirty ones are an error at the factory that we are working to correct. As a result, this one will be delayed relative to the other two national battle packs (Dagobah and Geonosis), but should catch up in schedule quickly. These packs will be available throughout the spring ('07), so collectors should be able to pick up one or more Tantive IV sets without a problem.

And, for those with poor reading comprehesion skills...

- the Stormtroopers will be clean!
- the dirty ones are an error!

I'm relieved as well. The trooper battle packs are one of the few remaining areas I look forward to new Hasbro product. Army buidling at a reasonable price is always nice.

Good news indeed on the clean Stormtroopers. I would need 8 packs the for the 16 squad leaders I'd need.  :P

That is definitely good news.  I'm hoping to pick up a set now for sure, maybe a couple.

Reaction seems to be pretty "meh" overall to this one.  I am looking forward to it...moreso now that the it has been revealed that the Stormies will be clean.  I was excited to be getting a couple more RFTs with different headsculpts and, finally, removable helmets with corrected paint aps.

I've warmed up to it slightly myself...  I'm thinking of getting it to at least have the Rebel's headsculpts in my fodder bin and a couple Stormtroopers aren't going to hurt me any either.
