That is one crappy useless figure right there.  And the two next to it. :-X

I guess Hasbro did not get the memo about REGULAR battle droids not GIJoe style repaints. ::)

Exactly, there's nothing really to add to your comment.

I'm quite certain those Kashyyyk droids were not camo painted.

I like the new arm on the SBD...I'll buy them loose in a year off the boards and repaint them. How about that?

This may be the first figure I pass on in 11 years - quickly followed by the rest of the other repainted garbage that Hasbro is trying to sell us this year.

I for one am glad with all the crap they showcased at Comic Con.  Now I can save that money and get me more clones.

I think I'm going to spend 2007 starting a carded vintage collection.

Seriously.

Hey Rob I'm kinda with you on this, I've felt this way for some time.  I've had enough repacks, rehases, Hans, Lukes, R2s, Vaders, $13 store exclusives etc., and I've been ultra picky about what I've been buying the past couple years.

I've gone from buying about 95% of what Hasbro released in 2000, to about 60% here in 2006.  When figures like the sandtrooper come along, I go to town on that instead.

Now, having said that, it's not all crap.  We are getting Kashyyyk clones, Parjai Troopers, and Galactic Marines.  And building nice armies of those will be expensive enough.

No, I'm not buying camo droids.  They're stupid.  They ought to make us some decent regular deco droids before they start in with all this EU garbage.

Yeah, there are a handful of items that I like.  But the number of items that I don't outweighs it by about 4 to 1.

I just have to get over the completist thing, which kind of started happening with OTC with the repaints.  I started buying just repaints that made things into new figures - like troops and such.

But this EU stuff and the made up stuff, and the use of older outdated sculpts and kitbashing has me at a breaking point of sorts.

Hasbro is doing their part to break my mental block towards the idea of not buying at least two of everything.

Stupid? Of course not. Striped Swirly Camo Droids aren't stupid! THEY'RE RETARDED. I was going to make an army, but, jeez, these look like crap.  :P

They're kinda cool. I need Droids, so perhaps one of each set for me. Maybe more if I can repaint them.

I won't be buying these... but not because of the paint jobs. Matter of fact, while I think the swirly camo design on the SBD is pretty awful looking, I actually kinda like the tiger-stripe that the BD's have going on.

Regardless, I'm pissed off that the old sculpts are being re-used on these. The SBD has a pimp-lean going on, while the BD cannot stand without a heavy-duty peg/brace.

Maybe someday we'll get an Evolutions set for the Battle Droid,  Cream / Red / Camo, so that my Arena dio can finally have some droids that are able to stand without being delicately leaned against one another.

I like the idea in general but as Brad just pointed out, in practice the implementation is flawed. You can see from the posted pic that one of the Battle Droids has his right leg already bending to the side and starting a lean. If Hasbro is going to use old sculpts for Battle Droids, why can't they go back to the Episode 1 sculpt?!?! Sure it's not as accurate as other sculpts, but the sculpt requires a harder plastic which in turn prevents the warping of limbs. For ***** SAKE Hasbro, get it through your thick ****** skulls and use better plastic!!!!!

I'll probably only get the Super Battle Droids if I am really bored one day on a toy run.

Regular Battle Droids like that?  Since it's a 2-pk, I'll bite.
