My buddy checks out gizmodo everyday and sent me the link to your collection. He was floored when I told him I know you.

Thats pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing.  ;D

Thanks!

Do you have pictures of your collection anywhere?  I hear rumors that it puts mine out to pasture.   :)

I do have a large amount of stuff but i wouldnt say its better than anothers  :). The problem is that none of it is on display. I honestly would love to display it all and post some pics. I guess thats the problem with living in an apartment. The next time I break out my vintage stuff I will try to take some pics of that.

That's pretty funny.  I got a lot of attention over that whole thing - more than I wanted I guess.  I got calls from friends, an email from Derryl Depriest, and 2 offers for radio interviews.  Small world.

You should, that'd be great to see.

New photos are up!

Since about April I've been selling off the carded collection, the 12", prequel legos, most of the loose vehicles, and a bunch of the random miscellaneous things. I'm now down to OT legos (boxed up for now), loose Hasbro, loose vintage, and gentle giant mini busts. The TV pictured near the end came out of the sale of the carded figures, so I thought I'd include it. I've been working overtime to fill in holes in the Hasbro wall, which is now 12' across with 9 shelves on a 12' high wall. To the best of my knowledge, the only thing I'm missing in there is the Elite 181st Pilot and a Toy Fair Vader. I also need 4 more vintage figures to finish up that set.

So there you have it. When I re-did the wall over the last few weeks, I pulled a little over 100 figures out, mostly army builders, and have them listed in my for sale thread (link in the sig-line if you're interested).

Thanks for looking.

If by any chance any of you guys notice a figure or sculpt that's missing, please do let me know - it's about impossible to have a complete set, but I'm really really close. I'm also interested in major variations (like tan vest vs. gray vest Jedi Luke or the blue-coat vs. brown coat Hans (which are in there)).

Wow.  Makes me want to get to work on MY collection room.

I still need to find a way to get my vintage stuff out here from New York.
This is the way.

The collection (once again) looks amazing Rob.  It had to take a long time to get all of those set up, and set up so well.  Great pics, thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys - it was indeed a lot of work.  3 solid weekends (including the Labor Day holiday weekend) and a few evenings in between to take down the old shelves, fill all the holes and paint, get the cabinets, build them, move everything around, take everything apart, add 3 new shelves to the big wall, and rebuilt it all.  And that doesn't count the work I've been doing on it since April when I started selling... filling thumbtack holes and painting as I go, moving stuff around, TV shopping (which was fun), getting the new TV stand and building it...  It's taken a long time, and there's a big pile left in the closet that this guy is still buying up a little bit at a time, but I'd say 3/4ths of what's going is now gone.

Now I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing this weekend - I guess watching the Gators roll Tennessee (hopefully).

In case anyone was curious, I counted the figures today - I came up with 1,967 as the total.  That could of course be off by a few.

Thanks Jesse. :)

I don't know if anyone was curious or not, but I managed to take a census finally - the current count is 1,971 1973.  That could be off by a few though.

Hmmm....I liked the earlier pics better.   :D

Rob, I hope you read all the threads on moving a collection.  Are you moving yourself or is a company moving you?
This is the way.
