The Force Unleashed game delayed again??
« Reply #45 on: January 18, 2008, 10:14 AM »
What the fark? Again?

It's being reported by another website that the game's release has been pushed back to as far as August 26.

The only significant reason I can see for this is them trying to adapt the game to the Wii, what with the lightsaber controller.

In the meantime though the toys are going to hit mass retail in a month or two with the main thing they are tied in to NOT at retail. That may mean lackluster sales at first.

Yes, collector interests will coax the line along, but it remains to be seen if we will be able to carry it through until the release of the game.

Wow, it's been almost a year since we've seen the toys and photos and trailers from the game.
I can't believe there is yet another hold-up with the game itself.

I WAS excited to play the game, now-not so much. My interest has cooled off on these. It will probably pick up when we get a HARD confirmation of the release date of the game, but by that time the toys will have been out for awhile and my interest in getting more TFU related toys will have wained.

This is a significant screwup on LucasArts. Once okay we can forgive easily. It happens even with the best of franchises. But twice now?? And so long after we have basically been told to look for an early spring release. Shame shame LucasArts.
I'm just a humble collector trying to make his way through the universe...of toy aisles.

Is Axl Rose in charge of getting this launched?

While I'm disappointed the game is being delayed, I'm not complaining about it.  Just remember what happens when they try to "rush" a game out **coughcoughkotorIIcough**.

I think a little patience will pay off and we'll get an awesome game.
This is the way.

It may suck to have it delayed again but as long as it's released this year I'll be fine with it.  ;D

Don't forget, they aren't just using an old engine and slapping some fancy graphics on it and sending it out.  They are creating some serious AI and physics engines for this game and that takes time to work it all out.
This is the way.

I'm not shocked at this...  A friend in the industry mentioned that he thinks the game's got bad omens around it, and that it might be a flop at retail...  I'm fearful now, more than ever, that he's right.

Where's the one that actually makes the game appear?

I bet the game was pushed back so the designers/game makers could work the codes in.

For those who are lazy. These aren't all the pics I just snagged the better ones.

Kazdan Paratus is a reclusive Jedi being hunted by the Apprentice.

The Apprentice rushes an enemy Rodian on the junk planet of Raxus Prime.

The Apprentice’s quests take him to several locations familiar to fans, such as Cloud City, from The Empire Strikes Back.

Luke had C-3PO; the Apprentice has a droid sidekick, too: PROXY.

The Apprentice prepares for battle. According to the head of the game’s development team, Haden Blackman, the game was designed to let users explore the pleasures of “kicking someone’s ass with the Force.”

The Apprentice goes saber-to-saber with Shaak Ti, who eschews the Jedi’s usual voluminous robes.

Apparantly he can charge people with the force lightning and use them as basically hand grenades. :)  That's gross, funny, and disturbing, all at the same time.

Yeah I was watching a thing on it at Gamestop. A 'Lightning Bomb' as they call it. Looks great! I love how when you use the force push it not only knocks the person back but damages them as well removing armor and such.
