even tho i don't collect these, i have seen them in 2 packs in my local comic shops as well as 6 packs that have 5 regular figures and a figure packed in black plastic. i'm guessing that's a chase figure. the two packs were $7 i want to say, and the 6 pack was $15. or maybe it was a 5 pack with 4 regular and the mystery figure, i don't recall. sorry...

Thanks.

Never seen anything larger than a two pack.  These singles just struck me as strange.  The venom single comes without the tongue.  I actually thought I'd stumbled on a black spidey but for all the teeth :-\

Marvel Minimates are sold in the U.S. as 2-packs to the specialty market (comic shops, Suncoast video, et al) and 5-packs at TRU. The specialty market gets the chase figures packed one per case of 12. TRU got the 5-packs, with one figure concealed as the "hidden hero."

Single packs were developed for Target, but they passed on the first assortments. Since then, they're rumored to be back on the bandwagon. No telling how soon, though.

2-packs were also developed for Wal-Mart, but Wal-Mart U.S. also passed, while Wal-Mart Canada picked them up. These are different from the specialty market 2-packs in character teams. (They're more mass market friendly.)

Kay-Bee also showed interest in their own sets - a 3-pack IIRC - but that was dropped, too.

Currently the packaging is changing to this for the 2-packs. It's no longer a blister, but it does make the figures look much more dynamic. I like it. (Except maybe for that "Spider-Man with Peter Head" text. Will they offer a "Robin with Dick Head" someday?)

Post sober.

Yes, I know.  There's one sitting in a drawer in my office waiting for me to come back, box it up and send it off.  No worries there.

MisterPL, thanks for the update.  I had no idea how common the chase were.  I'm wondering if we didn't get the Canadian shaft again.  I've been around when sealed boxes were put out, no chase and about 36 of these go in a display. :(  Just as well, then I'd buy more stuff ::)

Although I don't collect any kubricks or minimates (although they are really cool), I did run across this while visiting the Green Dragon this morning.  Maybe its old news, but I think its the first time I have seen these:

Edit:  Had to remove the picture, sorry for any trouble everyone.  And sorry to Art Asylum as well.

Kinda cool I thought, sorry if it is old news though. :)

Very cool Bri!  I hadn't seen those before either, though I probably walked right by that poster at SDCC several times without noticing it.  Looks like there's still at least 5 more figures on tap for this line.

I don't follow the mini-mate stuff really, but I assume these are sold domestically here, right - unlike my beloved Kubricks?  Hmmm...  I don't collect any other lines, but I love LOTR and if this particular mini-mate line expands a bit more I just might start looking into it...   :-\

Hopefully not though!   :P

Right...they are sold in places such as Suncoast, Sam Goody, Tower etc  There has been talk of Wal Mart and Target picking up the Marvel line but it hasn't happened.

The one beef I have with MM is there are currently two scales...one is Kubrick like the Star Trek ones they did and the other is smaller like the Marvel (and hopefully upcoming DC ones) are...I guess I don't follow AA stuff as close as say MisterPL does...John any knowledge as to standardizing on a scale for all MiniMates?

Those figures look awesome, I'm a sucker :-*

I agree Matt, they do look kind of tempting to me too.  One of the reasons I haven't picked up more LOTR figures (only 2) than I have is because I don't have the space...especially for the 6" figures.  These little ones might be a little more tempting :P

Whoops!  Apparently we weren't supposed to be posting that picture here...  Shame on you Brian!   :P

We went ahead and removed it at the request of Tim from Art Asylum.  Sorry Tim!  Our apologies...

Good stuff you guys have there though!   ;)
