Another idea, are there certain companies or suppliers that our customized routinely buy from? Perhaps an art supply or model supply company might be willing to sponsor.

Does JD have any plans on having a booth at C4? S

I always thought it'd be good for JD to have a booth at certain conventions with a computer that's connected to the site for people to pa-ruse. I know it's usually cost prohibitive, but doesn't exposure usually equal increased revenue if membership increases?

What about the fixit people?  Or the Sculpey People, or The testors or Tamiya people.

I dont really know how it was done, but back hmmm.. like 5 years ago, I was part of The Chicago Force, and one of our members got in touch with Steve Sansweet-at the SW site, it says he's "He is currently Director of Content Management and in charge of fan relations in Lucasfilm's Marketing Department."

We were supposed to have dinner with him and kinda of a meet and greet.. but that fell through.. I did have a nice chat with him outside the hotel and got a picure with him...

Maybe sending a letter here to Steve might get through, but I'd still try and talk to those people Jesse mentioned, Im sure even when Gencon releases the info, they'll beable to point you in the right direction.

Are we allowed to make sales? Perhaps some customs or repo-accessories (blaster) can be cranked out and sold to help cover cost?

But if we did that, we'd become a vendor and when that happens, our fan position is closed, meaning we get no free space if thats possible. If free space isn't possible, we could try doing that.

It's possible. NiubNiub put his Death Star Docking bay up for silent auction at Celebration 3. I think the winning bidder ended up being a fraud so he never did get paid though.

As long as it doesn't involve buring a dead hooker, anyway to raise money is greatly appreciated.

UGP - Fundraising custom auctions

One way we could help fund the UGP is to auction off our custom star wars toys. Are there any volunteers out there willing to put up the first custom?

WHat if we put up parts of the Project?

All of the pieces that arent gonna be returned. ( So you would need to decide when you are done weither you want it back or not.)
We can photograph them as they get done, and aution them off, with the understanding
that shipment will be made after C4?

Sure if the buyer is willing to wait that long. It might be kind of neat to have a piece of the diorama after its been in news print.

I just got my Exhibitor application for C4. This is NOT the fan booth information but rather for vendors and other exhibitors. Anyway, looking at the price schedule we see this:

10x10 standard  $1320
10x10 corner $1550
10x20 end cap $3300
20x20 4booth penninsula $6050

This goes all the way up to a 35 booth island 50x60 for $53,900. These are all early priority prices due by Dec 15th.

I really hope we get a fan booth. :-\

I hate to say it, but if we don't get a fan booth, I don't know that this will get done. I'm going to have enough trouble paying for myself to go, plus making my sections that I doubt I'll have any left over for donations. I have a feeling most of you are in a similar situation too.

And outside of the little customizing circle I wouldn't think there are many people who would want to contribute anything.

So unless anyone here is very wealthy and has been holding back on us, I don't think this is going to be possible unless we can get a fan booth.
