Even if it could be ONE day earlier it would be better for me - if the evening slots are there.

September 5
September 6
September 7

Those are the days that are fairly open with respect to times.  The 8th is as well, but that doesn't match the non-weekendish criteria.  I'm not keen on drafting next week, but I'll adapt pretty easily if the group wants to.  Judging by how quiet this place gets on the weekend, I'm not sure we'd be able to pull it off, with the long weekend added on.

BTW, I'm not opposed to a forum draft, I'm just lazy.  I picked the time for a live draft simply because the stuff closer to the season seems to be being picked off pretty quickly, much as it did with the NFL stuff.  I can easily change the draft to offline.

Sorry Rob, missed your post.  Even one day earlier we're looking at 5 PM.  It's crazy.

September 5, 6 or 7 all work for me.  If you need to leave it how it is right now on that Friday at 10:30 I'll make it work.

I'm fine with the 7th.  My only concern is a lack of time for people to prepare, considering it's pretty much the weekend.  Is it a long weekend down there this weekend or is it next?  Ours is this weekend.

Just worried about guys having time and enough notice to sign up and prepare.

Missing who from last year right now?

Jesse
Jaime
Holo E (Jason)
Scott

One more person is missing I think.  We had 10 last year, didn't we?  I've set the league to allow for 12 players btw, so we can add two that didn't play if we want.

So alternate draft date currently is September 07 and the times as of right now are pretty open, so I can make it more appealing for the east coasters.

Also since we might be on short notice, take a chance to review the important aspects of the scoring:

Max Games Played: 90

Roster Positions: C, C, LW, LW, RW, RW, F, D, D, D, D, Util, G, BN, BN, BN, BN, IR, IR

Stat Categories: G, A, +/-, PIM, W, L, SHO

G = 1 point
A = 1 point
+/- = +1 or -1 point
PIM = 0.2 pts per
W = 2 points
L = -1 point
SO = 4 points?

I'm into adding short handed goals (SHG) and game winning goals at a point each if you guys like.

I'd prefer the 15th as next week is going to be hectic as all **** (traveling until Tuesday and then two bids go in Thursday and Friday).

Is it a long weekend down there this weekend or is it next? Ours is this weekend.

Yep

Scoring is fine however you want to do it.

Here's the list from last year, but I think Ryan took someone's spot didn't he?  I would have had the exact list but I just deleted the Fantasy hockey link from last year last week.

1:   Mikey.
2:   Brent.
3:   Kevin.
4:   Jesse J.
5:   Rob.
6:   Scott.
7:   Jesse V.
8:   Jeff.
9:   Jason.
10: Jamie.

No, someone just listed Jesse James instead of me for some reason.

Personally, I'd prefer the 15th as well since the upcoming week will be nuts around here.  My wife and daughter return from a trip on the 5th, then my daughter's birthday is on the 6th and her first day of Kindergarten is the 7th.  (And then I'll need the 8th to recover from seeing my little girl growing up and starting school  ;)).

I think the scoring looks good.  If we add a couple categories, I'd suggest SH goals and OT goals because I think they are more meaningful compared to GW goals.  Just an idea.  :)

BTW, the Pushers are ready to knock Jeff off his podium.  :D

I'm seeing a leaning towards the 15th.  I'll keep checking for other times during the week, maybe they release some later.

Still can't set the stats modifiers but I can change/add/delete different categories.  Here are the choices:

Forwards/Defensemen
 Goals (G)
 Assists (A)
 Points (P)
 Plus/Minus (+/-)
 Penalty Minutes (PIM)
 Powerplay Goals (PPG)
 Powerplay Assists (PPA)
 Powerplay Points (PPP)
 Shorthanded Goals (SHG)
 Shorthanded Assists (SHA)
 Shorthanded Points (SHP)
 Game-Winning Goals (GWG)
 Shots on Goal (SOG)
 Shooting Percentage (SH%)
 Faceoffs Won (FW)
 Faceoffs Lost (FL)

Goaltenders
 Games Started (GS)
 Wins (W)
 Losses (L)
 Goals Against (GA)
 Goals Against Average (GAA)
 Shots Against (SA)
 Saves (SV)
 Save Percentage (SV%)
 Shutouts (SHO)

LMK what you think is interesting aside from the standard categories.  Personally I'm not much in favor of changing too much, especially for goalies.  Just wins (2), losses (-1) and shutouts (4).  GA and the others really make the goalies negative point getters overall and detract from the position.

For skaters, Goals (1), assists (1) are standard, the rest up for debate.  Penalty minutes (PIM) would be set low (0.1-0.2) because at one point per, you can load up on goons and do quite well.  Old time hockey...Toe Blake....Eddie Shore...is all fine and dandy, but I prefer skill.

Here's my preferences:

Forwards/Defensemen
 Goals (G)
 Assists (A)
 Penalty Minutes (PIM) - I like the idea of 0.2 points/minute
 Powerplay Goals (PPG) - I also like the idea of a couple new goals categories
 Shorthanded Goals (SHG)

Goaltenders
 Wins (W)
 Losses (L)
 Shutouts (SHO)
