My inner child - Different things that I have enjoyed growing up.

Child - He is from a Metallica T-shirt that I had (Metallica being my favorite bad)
DX on T-Shirt - DX was my favorite wrestling gimic of all time.
25 on Shoe - #25 is the number Mark McGwire wore when he played baseball
34 on shoe - #34 is the number Nolan Ryan wore when he played baseball for the Rangers & Astros

Black Sun logo - I just like the picture right after getting it with the blood dripping down from it.

Anyone else been following the tale of Kimberley Vlaminck, the 18-year-old Belgian girl who said she went into the tattoo parlor, asked for three stars to be tattooed on her face, fell asleep in the chair, and woke up with an entire galaxy instead?

Yeah, 'cause she lied about the whole "asked for three/fell asleep in the chair" part.

Good stuff.

She looks awesome now.

Between her and Mike Tyson, this is the best year for face tattoos ever.

My newest tat.

A tribute to my grandfather, whom I miss.  He was a WWII veteran from Europe and fought in the M10 and later M36 Tank Destroyer.  He was part of the "relief" column from Patton's army into Bastogne in the winter of '44.  His tank ran out of gas and his crew moved forward like infantry.  He earned a Combat Infantry Badge which I thought odd until I found out about the him running out of gas.

I was fortunate a few years ago to be deployed to Germany and got to travel the same roads and through the same cities he had fought through 60 years before.

This is his unit patch. And this hurt like a bitch getting done Saturday.

Damn cool story Chris.  To me, tats are supposed to have that sort of meaning behind them, not just some random pic from a display in a shop.  I guess that's why I still don't have one, I just haven't figured out what I want yet that would have the kind of "value" to me.

That's how I feel too Jesse - and why I still haven't settled on one yet.  I want one that is personal and includes my family.  I also want one that incorporates the design of the emblem from the necklace that Shannon gave me just before she died.  Both of those will be just for me.

My husband is considering getting tats on his upper back/shoulder blade of the children's footprint impressions that were taken in the hospital just after they were born.

Thanks ya'll.  It took me a while to decide on my first tat.   I ended up getting and eagle with crossed runways in it's claws.  That's what was on my beret when I was in the military.  I thought hard about doing a grim reaper firing a machine gun but then thought better of it as I would have to explain that to my child one day.

The one for my grandfather took a good while as well.  I couldn't decide on the exact patch I was going to do as there are several variations and I had to ask another history buff for some guidance.  I ended up going with the patch that my grandfather is wearing in a picture I have of him from the war.

Tracy, I'm considering one more tat and it is like what your husband is debating...my daughter's footprints that I have on my scrubs.  I may get them done over my heart.
