I like the figure, but he just seems too bulky to me.  I guess he'll make good custom fodder though.

I'm liking this figure a lot more now, the shoulders look a lot less bulky than they did in the prototype pics we saw.

How much more did we need a 14 point articulated battle droid?

It was pretty rare... I have a couple loose and am glad I got them when I did.  Here's some on ebay...

ASCENSION GUN AMIDALA

 :)

What a rip off.  I got real lucky and found that entire wave at Target on clearance (even though they were brand new, they got caught up in the rest of the E1 clearance sales) for $2.50 each.  I never saw them anywhere else.

He also has two chins, for twice the ass-kicking power. I got to write a databank entry in the prequal Trilogy forum on him.

Isn't that second chin just the helmet strap?

That Naboo Obi-Wan is painted wrong.  His pants were almost white in TPM, not beige, and matched his tunic.

Carded pics of some of the wave:

SAGA-047: Obi-Wan Kenobi

SAGA-048: Darth Maul (Trade Federation Hologram)

SAGA-050: Naboo Soldier

Obi-Wan- This isn't '99. A new sculpt with decent articulation would've been better. At least the SG cloak is cool, and the pack-in comlink is neat.

Darth Maul (Trade Federation Hologram)- Looks pretty cool, I don't have any Mauls, so I'll pick it up.

Naboo Soldier- The star of this wave, looks awesome! This will be up with Lushros Dofine and Veers as the best TSC basic figures so far. Great articulation, great sculpt, decent accesories. Hopefully I'll be able to find him easily.

Can't wait to see pictures of the other half of this wave.

I agree with Hunter on the Naboo soldier...  Dull looking as he may be there were a number of these guys running around on Naboo.  He's no less dull than the Royal Guard, or Foot Soldier from the E1 line...  Which were dull of course, but he's better because he's articulated.

He doesn't look blocky to me in those images...  The removable helmet is great though I'm under the assumption he still hsa a pinhead look to him.  Overall though he looks decent to me.

He's better than some of the Tatooine Wave in my book.  I prefer him over the Momaw Nadon resculpt honestly.  Mostly because of articulation, but still Momaw was a letdown to me.

The Ithorian's likeness is dead on.  I agree he was a letdown in articulation (as are about 90% of all new releases) but in terms of sculpt and likeness, Momaw Nadon is pretty sick, don't you think?

Sculpt's good, yes, but no better to me than Hem Dazon and Garindan who I liked both better than Momaw...  I guess part of me just didn't care about Momaw enough to want an all-new sculpt of him.  He was a Cantina Alien I easily could've never seen on pegs again and been just as happy for it.

Garindan was a vastly superior figure IMO...  And the Naboo Soldier here is the same way for me.  I'd say my opinion of Garindan and this no-name are on par (just going by the photos of course).  Garindan was a figure that early shots were disappointing me but when I got one I sort of perked up to the quality of it I believe.

Anyone else think the guy on the cardboard insert resembles Toby Maguire?

Mual-PASS!
Soldier-Pick 3 up
Obi-Wan-1,just becuase I don't have any TPM Obis

Also,Chewie for your list here's what I think:

Eopie-Re-paint it ROTS style w/ Ob-wan & Baby Luke & I'll pick 1 up,w/ a any Qui-Gon besides a new SA version it would depend

TC-14-I'd pick 1 up but a Diety 3PO re-paint would be better

Astro Droid-No,I would only want a SP or VOTC re-paint

Padme-No,only a new SA version would suit me

Boss Nass-Yes

Sebulba-No,a new version w/ another Racer is needed

Pit Droids-Yes

Sio Bibble-No

Security Droid-Yes!
