The problem with America is stupidity I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself

Not exactly current movie news, but I saw an ad last night that Turner Classic Movies is showing a number of "family classics" in the month of December (see the list HERE.  I noticed during the ad that one of the movies they will be showing is "The Black Hole".  I haven't seen that in a long time, but remember being kind of into it as a kid.

Steven Speilberg and Will Smith to remake Chan Wook-park's "Oldboy". This really doesn't seem like the kind of movie either one of them would make.

Oldboy

I kind of like the idea of them remaking Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. You start with Ceaser becoming intelligent, then abused and then having him revolt. Finally having the Apes take over the world. It sounds alot like what the robots did in the Ani-Matrix that ended with the humans becoming batteries for the robots.

I don't know how I've been living without Netflix all these years. I finally signed up today and am loving the live Streaming over XBox Live.

I caught This is England on the XBox today. It's a great film and is somewhat like an English version of American History X. I think Thomas Turgoose, the kid who plays the lead role, did a fantastic job. The final shot is perfect, and very reminscent of Truffaut's The 400 Blows.
