Well, I ordered both...my first and only steps into this line :-[

You won't be disappointed with these.  After seeing them a couple of times in person I have to say that they're among the best pieces Gentle Giant has ever offered in the mini-bust line.

That's what I'm thinking, not wanting to pay for Vader I and wanting an OT Yoda, it was a perfect chance to get them both and be done with them.  I have a small little Vader mini focus going on the top of one of my bookshelves with:

Koto Vader I
Upcoming Medicom 12" Vader
Upcoming Unleashed Vader
Unleashed ROTS Anakin/Vader
Don Post Vader Helmet
Bust Up Vader
VOTC Vader

This will make a nice addition and should fill the space.  And I don't think I need anything else there (except Kubrick Vader)

Sounds cool, Scott.  Are you going to go for Koto Vader 2?  It might be cool to bookend your Vader focus area with both Koto pieces.

I don't know, its sort of cramped already, I have the Electronic 12" in there now to save space for Medicom 12".  I could take the Don Post Helmet out but it sort of looks cool up there.  Those Kotos are huge (cool, but, huge!)

I'm a total newbie when it comes to these things, so forgive me if this is a silly question.  I am seriously considering preordering the Han, Yoda, and Vader (or at least one, depends on what I can talk the Mrs. into :P).  Is there one place that is the best to preorder through?  Does one have a better track record with getting these things?  I have seen people mention Star Wars Shop, AFXpress, BigBadToyStore, etc.  Is there one place you would recommend, or just go with the cheapest?  Thanks for any advice.

I checked in at my local comic shoip, and the guys there told me that Diamond Previews will have the Darth Vader and Yoda mini-busts available for pre-order in the next issue.  Good news if you get these through your comic shop.

Mosnab, as many in this thread will tell you, I'm a big advocate of ordering these through your local comic shop.  If you can hook up with a good comic shop you can get these for less than they're listed at SWS, BBTS or EE.  And you won't pay shipping either.  That being said, if you don't have the benefit of a good comic shop in your area, I would recommend any of the three e-tailers that I mentioned.

$2375.  Unreal.  I definitely don't need this one.   ::)

Unbelievable.  I can't believe that someone would be willing to spend that much on this piece.  I know that some auctions had closed at over $1K, but for this thing to break $2K?!  That's just surreal.

I floated the idea of the Han, Vader, and Yoda busts past the Mrs. this weekend, and she wasn't too enthused :).  She thinks $40+ is a bit much, probably since she is used to me sticking to somewhat lower-end items otherwise.  I can kind of see her point, but I'm trying to work on her to at least get a Han...and maybe someday, if/when it comes out, a Chewie.  Although I'd sure like that Yoda and Vader as well ;).  Time for a 2nd job.

Here's what I did...buy stuff for Brent, have him Paypal it to you and then turn that around to buy busts.  It looks like you are buying the small stuff but in the end you are really just trading for the big stuff :P

Blue Clone Trooper Bust   :o   :o

GG Blue Clone Trooper Bust   :o

I'm surprised to see that second one go for $325.  That's kind of low for the blue Clone Trooper.

;D

Glad I could help out.  Paypal, the account the wife never sees ;)

Just got word from the store I bought my Vader statue from.  It ships on 6/22.

Have to admit I've been checking that store nervously as the sale was a pre-sale on ebay for $150 for the GG Vader.  It was a long time ago so you can imagine I was pretty pleased when I received a shipment date email from him :)
