Sideshow 12" Militaries of Star Wars line
« on: September 22, 2006, 08:10 PM »
Already confirmed by the Endor Rebels, but I decided to start a thread. I really hope this is like the Jedi Order line of this year in '07. Anyone else?

Well, they said not for a while, but they said eventually. Makes me hope that they change their mind on Grievous, he'd fit really well in this line.

Imagine what they could do with Death Star Troopers or Rebel Fleet troopers...and Hoth Troopers!!!  Their uniforms are usually very well done and well researched.  Hopefully they get the access to the stuff they need.

I was going to pass on the SS 12in stuff but after seeing the Endor Rebels, looks like I am going to be in it up to my elbows.  At least with the Militaries lines.

We all know a certain someone who is obsessed with Fleet Troopers who would love that. *wink, wink!*

I would love to see some rebel pilots like Arvel Crynid (sp?).  Of course a Hoth Soldier, Rebel Fleet Trooper, and of course the clonetroopers, etc.  I could go broke from all the possibilities.  SS must be salivating.

I'm all for pilots too if done properly...  They're a little less accessorized than the Endor Rebels appear though...  I don't know how well they'd go over for the higher pricetag because of that.

I'd love to see a RFT of course...  I'd like to see a RFOfficer too (Antilles) to accompany him.  This is the only 12" line I'm getting into so I'm assuming they'll delve into Hoth and the Fleet troopers at some point.  THey're really too easy not to.

It would be nice to see a destroyer droid that can fold up into a little ball.  :)

That would be awesome. My guess it will happen eventually

Hopefully the next figure after Ventress (or Padme) will be part of this line, I'mhoping a Stormie or Clone. I'm starting to think about ordering the RAH figures.  :-\

Here is some good news from this week's news letter.

"For those of you experiencing some concern as to whether this means Sideshow will be creating a Boba Fett 12-inch figure or not, take heart. We do have plans to bring our own Star Wars armored characters to the market in the next couple of years - perfection takes time, after all!"

Well thats good enough for me. No need to spend the money of the Medicom figures, i will just wait it out.  ;D

This week's Sideshow Radio podcast (starts around the 20minute mark) talks a lot about the development of their new 12" Trooper body - how they worked through various samples and designs to get to a new style body that actually looks good with armor on it as opposed to just adding clunky armor to the existing body style.

It definitely sounds like plans are in the works for Sideshow to finally jump into the armored characters... Ep2 Clones, Ep3 Clones, Stormtroopers, Dengar, and more.

I'd like a stormtrooper with alternate heads of Luke and Han. That'd be cool.
