Which are considered new if you look at the "mainstream" sets - Dagobah, Sarlaac, Senate Office, etc.

Those sets are strictly reissues with no changes.

The office one includes the jedi robes though... and if you look at the Vader from the Dagobah set... he might have some extra mud deco applied to the legs & cape.

I'll give you that.

But those are two sets that the collectors aren't clamoring for.

More often than not, Hasbro will make a figure unqiue (or brand new) enough to drive collector interest - in regards to the retailer exclusive BP's.

<and I don't consider a repaint or kitbash as a new anything either>

Well, unfortunately for you

Somehow, I don't see this as just unfortunate for me only. I'm not alone on this :P.

The problem is that people (including Hasbro) cannot tell the difference between new and improved.

If something is new, like Snow Padme, then it never existed before or this particular sculpt of that figure never existed.

If you repaint or glue legs from one guy to another then it is improved (well whether that improves the figure is questionable) but never new.

Hasbro dicks us around with their "new" labels which only mean improved.  Hasbro cannot get me to buy a battle pack for just one new figure, mostly b/c I know they will eventually repaint/rehash/repack it and I will be able to get it without buying the rest of the crap.  Still I buy improved/repainted ships b/c I am a vehicle nut.
You are never alone when there's a clone.

These battle packs with troopers are a good deal though, even if you end up with 1 joke-in-the-box, 3 or 4 troops for 20.00 or less is a modern bargain.

the chameleon droids in the illum bp make ground beetles seem a lot more possible 8). i would hope that hasbro modifies that star corps troops' hip joints so they can actually sit ion the beetles like in the movie.  :P

The Felucia pack is definitely high on my list just due to the possibilities...  Plus I can use another Aylya for customizing I figure, but the troopers inside I definitely want more of...  Hopefully we get some pics soon of this one.

And yes, I'm a big hopeful for a slug mount packed in...  somehow.  Or foliage, but I'm not counting on either really.  The slug would be fantastic though if it came with a Felucia Clone with a softgoods kama to ride him somehow.  One can dream right? :)

I think the slug would be cool.  However, I'd expect it would have to be underscaled and many people wouldn't be very happy about that.  I for one am not a slave to "proper" scale but I know this is a sticking point for many people.

Myself included, but the slug's actually really small...  the image of it in the Vis. Dictionary at least is pretty small.  Like kind of speederbike sized I think.  :-\

I think it's certainly reasonable to include a Gelagrub in a Felucia Battle Pack if Hasbro can fudge the width of the box a bit.  The SITS box was slightly deeper than the mass retail BPs, so since this wouldn't be an item that would ship alongside anything other than itself, I can't see why a slightly larger box to accommodate the girth of the Gelagrub wouldn't be possible.

The only problem would be getting Hasbro to concentrate more on the actual toy than the presentation of said toy.  I'd much rather have Bly, two Evolutions Felucia Clones, and a Gelagrub with rider, but to do that, Hasbro wouldn't be able to do their flattened movie scene approach with the presentation.

As I said earlier in the thread, Hasbro could do a kitbashed rider for the Gelagrub by using an AT-TE Tank Gunner body (due to the ball-jointed hips) with a soft goods kama.  That said, they probably won't think of that themselves.

Regardless, I can't think of anything, action figure wise, outside of Bly, multiple Evolutions Felucia Clones, and/or Secura that would be included in this set and not end up sucking horribly.

For me personaly, the ideal combo is the 3 troops, commander, jedi pack, so that means we'll probably have one of the troops substituted for an accessory or beast. ::)

The gossam would rock but there's probally no way in hell we'll be getting one.
What I'd want:
x 2 Felucia Troopers (Re-packs w/ New SG Carma)
x 1 Clone Commander Bly (Re-paint w/ SG carma)
x  1 Felucia Trooper (AT-TE Gunner re-paint w/ SG carma)
x 1 Gelarub (New)

Which would add up to 3 new figures, 2 new-ish! :D
I'll doubt we'll get that besides the re-pack Troopers.

They'll probably go cheap and just give us that bird that distracts Aayla.
