Do you mean "Her Universe"?

Isn't that the chick that plays Asoka on CW?

If that's it, yeah, that's her... and she sells sci-fi themed T-shirts, I believe.

Yeah I missed what this is too if someone could point it out specifically.  I may just not be paying attention close enough, haha.

It's not a vibrator company is it?  R2-Dildo2.com?

Those have been running on RS for months.  Ashley's pretty nice.  I met her at SDCC a few years back, and again at NYCC this past fall.  She's trying to make a go of things with her own business.  And funny enough, when she was at NYCC her husband, former MLB player David Eckstein, was helping run the booth with her.

I wasn't sure what ad you were referring to at first.  When I went over there I was surprised to find a Consumer Reports ad on the site.

No, not the Her Universe links. There were large skyscraper/vertical banner ads to the left and right of the main page content with links to this site.

Didn't see those.  But I have been noticing a new trend of ads for sites and items I browse popping up in top and side banners recently.  Perhaps your wife has been using your laptop for some browsing on sites you might not otherwise be checking out?

Wow.  Very...  TLC.

I hope that's their newest sponsor.  That'd be just swell.

Actually, they popped on while on my design station at work. Weird, considering I'm the only one using that particular computer.

I saw them earlier.  They seem to be gone now, at least for me.

I wonder if the supplier of the ads got hacked and is causing goofy **** to pop on sites that don't really have anything to do with the advertisements?

I know about a year ago we got hit at work with some malware that came when people were browsing the local newspaper's website.  After looking at the history and cache on the computers, I was pretty convinced that the advertisements displayed initiated the attacks.  There are so many tricks in use to try and compromise people's computers it's not funny any more.

On the topic of Ashley and Her Universe, it seems they're doing well.  I see a lot of geek girls posting on various sites about what cool new swag they've just got from her store.  She started with mostly SW but has branched out to Syfy channel stuff now including Battlestar Galactica and Warehouse 13.  Lot of positive feedback on the clothing from what I've seen also.

So, yesterday, I think it was, people noticed that Dan Curto was no longer an admin on the forum over at RS.  Today he posted to Twitter; "Hard to share this, but I am no longer part of the @rebelscumnews @forcecast @theforcenet @CoolTooyReview teams." and then added a link to his Facebook where he has a small post about it.  He says that he was "fired" (with the quotes being his).

How do you get "fired" from a volunteer position?
