« on: July 16, 2006, 07:45 PM »
Available now on SWS.com and shipping in September, 2006, the new Darth Vader, Luke & Obi-Wan lightsabers in 30th Anniv packaging.

Order them here at SWS.com.

Looks like we'll be seeing the new 30th Anniv packaging in stores before TSC even ends.

I personally like role playing items like these as little things to have around and pound on other things when the need arises.  However, this spring activated thing sounds like a recipe for eye poking. :o

In this world of rubber corners on coffee tables, child safety locks and wearing helmets while riding 1 mph in the driveway, these lightsabers will at least keep them on their toes and teach'em a lesson.

Ahhh lawn darts.  Those were the days.  If you cannot get hurt doing it then it is not fun, at least that was what my dad used to say, well I did rearrange the words a bit. ;D

With a regular saber that's out now you can still put all of it in.

Anyone see the pic of the Maul lightsaber at Comic Con?   My 6 year old has been asking me to pay whatever the going rate on ebay is ever since he found out there was a maul lightsaber.  My 12 yr old busted through both of the ones I bought him when they were originally out.

Pop up lightsabers
« Reply #9 on: November 4, 2006, 04:15 PM »
Found the new spring loaded or 'pop up' lightsabers today at TRU in the new 30th anniversary package. They had Lukes' blue, Vaders' red and obi's blue sabers. the package is long and narrow - naturally for the saber, with the color tinted see-thru plastic to give the impression of the saber blade color. the ends of the box aren't squared but cut at an angle keeping with that new angular/industrial look of the new packages.

I was contemplating picking one of these up, but after seeing them in person, I think the hilts are too oversized.

True, but the kids don't care!

We have an old Vader one and I think I might pick up a new good guy saber so we can have some duels.

I was looking at these last night.  Does anyone else think the Obi Wan handle isn't as accurate as it could be?

Of course, but like ruiner said, you don't buy these for their accuracy.  :)

I too have been holding off on these.  My son's Vader Saber got destroyed by his cousins, maybe I will pick up one of these new ones as a replacement.  Anyone opened theors yet?  I am wondering how well the spring activation feature works...
