Oooooh ... pretty pictures!
« on: November 7, 2006, 11:18 PM »
Some jawdropping super-hi-res RotS digital matte paintings from one of the folks who worked on the film.

The shot of the Coruscant vista from Padme's balcony makes one of the most breathtaking wallpapers I've seen.

There's also some great stuff (non-SW) under the Matte Paintings, Production Art, and Personal Gallery sections.

Oh...wow.

Great for backgrounds! :) With some cropping though.

I find that by switching between "Tile" and "Center" you can make the pics do double duty, as it were, by showing different parts of the shot.

Also, the 360-panoramic ones look trippy when you hit "Stretch" to compress the width into the normal desktop proportions. ;D

The Coruscant paintings are the best.

Well, you do know they are digital, right? They're only "matte paintings" in the sense that they take the place of the traditional matte painting, but are created with a different method.

Just thought I should clarify.

I just set up that balcony shot as my laptop's walpaper.

I'll leave it there for a few days and see how I like it.
This is the way.

I have spoken.
