I dont want another kit but the set list gor GH is much better. It has BLS, Tool and GNR. I hope you will be able to just buy the game and play the guitar tracks. Anyone know if thats possible.

The Rock Band 2 bundles will be released tomorrow for the 360 and PS3.  Looks like $189.99 everywhere.  At Best Buy, you get a free "Kick Drum Shade" with purchase of the bundle.  No idea what that is, exactly.  The disc-only RB2 will also be released tomorrow for the PS3, at the typical price of $59.99.  Not sure if there are any freebies anywhere for that one.

Looks like the Wii and PS2 versions of Rock Band 2 will be hitting retail exactly a month from today.

And, a week from tomorrow, Guitar Hero: World Tour will be released across most of the major platforms.  Similar pricing, I think:  $60/game only, $100 game/guitar, $190/guitar-drums-mic, at least for the 360 and PS3 versions.  The Wii and PS2 versions may be a little cheaper.

This is where I (sort of) regret having bought the PS2.  Granted it was dirt cheap and for a year now it has been all I need.  With the rumors of the XBox being replaced within a year, I'll probably ride it out too.

Gonna be annoying knowing everyone is a month ahead on RB2/GHWT but I'll live with it for now.  I won't buy the drum kit for GH this time around and we have the full set for RB so we're ok there.

Still waiting on Rock the 80s to come down in price. ::)

Do they still sell the original Rock Band Drum Set in stores? I'm having trouble finding one.

GH: Metallica looks like a must buy for me.

And lo and behold, PS2 version of GH: World Tour is available today.   ???  I guess it's just Rock Band that's delaying that release for a month and not GH.  I may have to break down and buy a Wii to make the transition to the next level.

Weird aspect to GH/WT: if you are stuck on a song in a particular level, you can go down a level and beat it and it will let you proceed within the section of songs you are in.  Also odd that until you've completed a gig you cannot replay a song you've passed until you pass all the songs.  Also once you've completed a set it appears to be open on the next level up as well (finished on hard, expert available).  All this on the PS2 version and only with respect to guitar.

Visuals are a hybrid of GH and RB with way more female characters now in the bands.  None as sexy as the one with blue hair in RB1 mind you.

Not sure if the game is easier or not but I'm 87% through.  I only cheated on Assassin otherwise have played all on hard level.  Finished first set on expert too and a couple of other random songs.

So I got World Tour the other day, and I've got one or two sets left to do on Hard.  So far, I'm finding it to be pretty easy to nail 4 and 5 starts on pretty much every song on Hard.

But I'm reading that there are some pretty good songs that you can unlock (Welcome to the Jungle, Master of Puppets etc...) but it sounds like a lot of trouble to unlock them the real way.

I dug around for a few minutes for cheat codes and didn't find any - does anyone have any or know of a way to unlock the hidden songs?
