I recently received my TRU set.  Paid $57.99, but was gouged on the shipping cost.  I paid $33.00 for registered airmail for the TRU set and a 400% Be@rbrick.  The actual shipping cost was 116.10 HKD, less than $15.00 USD.   >:(

I like Kubricks less and less when the speculators and dealers are driving prices up :'(

In a way this really sucks, I mean the next wave of figures will be even worse. It really doesn't make sense since there are cheaper buy-it-nows.  ::)

I see a distinct parallel between Kubrick's and McFarlane SportsPicks.  Early series hot, no one buying them, they hold value well.  Later series have lots of collectors complete with a bevy of scalpers joining in.  Prices go up, frustration goes up, line becomes less popular with true collectors. Artefact of being popular?

Toyz is frustrating, particularly in a bit of a down time like this.

Does anyone know the history behind this DARTH MAUL like Kubrick figure on eBay?  Is it just a single custom, or is it an unlicensed product from somewhere.  I just thought it looked unique.

Looks like some great (surprise?) news for you Kubrickoholics...check out this news, if you haven't already.  Really wish I had the money to collect these, they continue to be quite cool 8).  This was a bit of a surprise, wasn't it?  I didn't see it mentioned previously anyways.

Holy God!   :o

Yeah, that one was definitely outta left field, Brian!  Damn, our Kubrick scoops around here are losing their touch...   ::)

2,005 sets available, similar to the usual carded Kubricks.  Damn.  6,090 Yen = approximately $59.00 (right now).  Oy.

They look fantastic though!   8)

To be honest, I wish they hadn't thrown Doda in there with the original 3 band members.  I'd prefer either the complete band from the original ROTJ, or the complete band (or at least the same as the Hasbro 6) from the S.E.

Having the 3 originals with just one new band member is kinda lame.  Should've just been the original 3, which would've been yet another impressive nod to the vintage era by Medicom.

Regardless, very cool.  It's also very nice to get some more new Kubrick news so soon after Series 3.  They wouldn't possibly be showcasing any other new Kubricks at this show, would they?  Like Series 4?  I'm deathly afraid that our first (official) Prequel Kubricks will be forthcoming very shortly here.  I'd be surprised if Medicom didn't hop on the ROTS bandwagon like everyone else.

Wait, hang on just a second.  I'll betcha a million freakin' dollars that's why the held back on the Vader Kubrick... to stick it into the first ROTS set to be assured of bringing in all the OT collectors.  Yoda too.  Yep.  You know it, and you heard it right here first!   :-*

Maybe there will be Series 4 news on Sunday (Medicom updates on the 24th each month which is the 23rd here)

Cool set, I'll take one :)

Is there an echo in here?  Nevermind.  I thought you meant at that show...   :P

My guess:

Series 4 - ROTS:
1. Darth Vader
2. Yoda
3. Emperor
4. ______
5. ______
6. ______

No doubt about it, in my mind...

Lobot???  Somebody has possessed Scott.  Seriously.

I'm in for a set too, but I agree with Matt on this one, Doda shouldn't be in there.

Wow!

Figures that I just get my hands on the other box sets and they go ahead and get something new to tempt me!

As for Series 4 guesses...

Here's my Kubrick "Most Wanted" list for the next few waves:

Wave 4: Return of the Jedi
1.  Darth Vader (3:12) w/Spirit Anakin Chase (1:96)
2.  Yoda (3:12) w/Spirit Yoda Chase (1:96)
3.  Slave Leia (3:12) w/ Boushh Chase (3:48)
4.  The Emperor (1:12)
5.  Jedi Luke (1:12)
6.  Stormtrooper (1:12)

Wave 5: A New Hope
7.  Snaggletooth (3:12) w/Blue Snag Chase (1:96)
8.  Luke X-Wing Pilot (3:12) w/Wedge Antilles Chase (1:96)
9.  TIE Pilot (3:12) w/DS Trooper Chase (3:48)
10.  Walrusman (1:12)
11.  Hammerhead (1:12)
12.  Grand Moff Tarkin (1:12)

Here are my guesses on Series 4 (and 5) from a while back... This is still the line-up I'd love to see in Series 4!  :)
