Next Great Sub-Set?
« on: May 25, 2007, 08:55 PM »
I am really excited and loving all of the McQuarrie figures, and I love that fact that it's a really specific sub-set in the main collection.     Now that it seems that anything is possible, I'd love to see all 8 (10?) Holo chess characters made in the "real" forms.  All those wierd aliens would just be too cool for words...Can anyone think of any other great sub-sets for the future?

I think the characters from the chess set would be cool, but i don't picture them regular size. I think they are larger beast like characters. It would be cool, but i dont think it would happen.

Yeah, I see your point.  I always imagined them to be about human size.  Maybe about as big as Hermi Odle, especially the big one who lifts the little guy and body slams him.

I think a great sub-line that would fit in to the regular line should be pilots of the Saga.  To me, this is the group least represented, and could feature X, Y, A, and B-Wing pilots as well as Snowspeeder pilots.  Have a special card made up and everything!

I think it'd be really cool to do more concept designs, Johnston, Jamero, McHaig, Chaing, more McQ and others. But to be totally different: make them all non-exclusive AND able to be found at retail! now that would be amazing...

I'd take the Chaing concept of Qui-Gon anyday! At least Hasbro could get his hair right-it's in a ponytail ;)

Well, we had Ian McHAig's concepts of Obi and QGJ in POTJ. (pg 202 & 204 in the Art of E1 book)

Jesse, that crossed my mind.  It could be interesting, but I don't want to buy Vader ever again!

How about 12 more concept figures.  If these sell well, and by all accounts they will, I could see Hasbro just expanding the set.

1) PT Concepts e.g. Dermot Power's Shaak Ti and Alta Ranga, etc.
2) JJ's Actors under masks

PT concepts are a good idea, maybe in 2009. Actors behind the mask (excluding clones & Fetts of course) would be pretty cool.

Maybe a 'Parody' line featuring characters from other shows that have parodied SW. Or animated style, for characters that didn't appear in the show(s).
