Hmmm.  I wonder who would sell a set like that?  I can see the lure of the cash but that's an AWESOME piece for doing nothing but volunteering some time.

It is sold already.  I wonder if whoever had it, sold it to the ebay seller first.  I can't imagine a panel participant would sell their own set.  efranks, where did you get the quote in your signature?  I don't recall ever saying that.

I paraphrased it from this post.

The auction said that Hollywood Heroes brokered the sale for a presenter.  So, from that, I take it to mean a presenter that received this set wanted to sell but rather than post his/her own eBay auction they went to HH to sell it for them to give them some anonymity.  Plus it's a high priced item so they may have wanted someone else to handle the receipt of payment and take care of shipping.

That's why it kind of surprised me that one of these sets came up for sale like that.

As I said, I can see the lure of the payout.  $3k would have covered all my expenses for going to CIV plus put over $1k back in my pocket.  Still, that's not the type of thing I would think to sell, it's so unique.

The only place you will be able to get official frames for the medallions is over at RS, they have 2 frames (CIV & CE $75.00 ea.) or singles for $15.00 ea. All 3 frames will be available after October 1st unless that changes again.  :-\

If you want to go another way, maybe check out a coin store for some kind of case to hold them in.

Thanks for the heads up, i'll just have to wait it out for now. A buddy of mine gave me the CE Chewie as a gift and i'd really like to display it. Maybe i'll try the coin shop tip as well. Thanks again!

I am liking the CE set vey much as well. I am a little envious.  ;) Part of me wants it even more now becuase of the Boba Fett medallion is technically (in my mind) part of the European set.
