Hmm...that's interesting and plausible (considering nothing has come up missing yet).

Why would you break in (twice) and steal nothing?

And shoot a guy in the groin (upper leg?)...

Lots of details aren't out there yet.

Why isn't anyone talking about the fact that Sean Taylor died this morning?

Check out my Darrent Williams thread at the end of last season.  No responses either.

Well, I've never shot anyone, but I have shot a handgun at a firing range and its not like you always hit what you're aiming for.  I was a few feet off of the bullseye for several shots and that was with time to aim.  I think someone in a high stress situation on the move could easily hit someone in the leg while aiming elsewhere.
Climbed a mountain & never came back. I will not quit & I always fight back
From this moment for all my life. What could I say? Was born to be this way. And what could I say?  Just livin' for today

Weird turn of events.  I guess the guy broke in last week and left a knife behind and then came back this weekend when everybody was home.

Taylor attempted to defend himself (and I can only assume, his child and wife) with a machette and as you know, got shot in the leg.

I still can't believe he died from a gunshot to the leg.

The whole story is very bizarre.  Just the fact that the guy would still be alive if he wasn't injured or chose to travel with the team shows how random life can be.

As for him dying from a gunshot to the leg/groin area?  It's very easy, actually.  If a bullet damages/severs the femoral artery it can lead to almost uncontrollable hemorraging.  Lose enough blood and that's a wound that can kill anyone.  One of the only things that might have saved him was if someone could get a tourniquette on his leg above the wound quickly, and even then that particular first aid measure could put the victim at risk to lose the leg.

Well, shooting at a target is one thing.  But imagine firing a handgun at a person, high stress, it's dark in the house, I'd imagine it'd be tough to hit the broad side of a barn.

The ideal weapon for close range self defense (or an assault I guess) would be a shotgun.  You can't match a blast like that, and you can't miss.

I can't believe an NFL athlete doesn't have a freaking alarm system on their house.  If my system is breached, the noise is so intolerable, the intruder has no choice but to run.

Ha ha.  Bring earplugs  :)

Or if you want to bring an AT-TE next year, you can just ring the front door bell.

Week 12 TV maps

CBS Single Game

Fox Early Game

Fox Late Game

And **** you NFL, cable companies or whoever else is responsible for not making what is arguably the biggest NFC game of the year so far available to over half the country.  (And yes, I realize I could pay for the channel but I shouldn't have to, especially after the NFL network was part of my cable package last year).

Our cable company won't even let us pay for it as part of a sports package

I think what the NFL really wants is for everyone to get pissed and call their local providers and demand that they carry the NFL Network...  they're not just looking for you to subscribe somehow.

What really grinds my gears is that I have the NFL network in HD at my house, but I'm out in California for training for my new assignment.   >:(

Ok...checking my "Sports Jinx"...I had until tomorrow to buy my PLAYOFF tickets for the year (even though the Cowboys are not in the playoffs officially yet)...last year when I was forced to do this, they went on a 2nd half swoon...so my prediction is a Green Bay win tonight..not because of their play but because I am the ultimate sports jinx.

Had to get it out before kick off so that we could test the theory.
