Iphoto/Mac Help...
« on: August 13, 2007, 01:53 PM »
Hey.  I was wondering if any one could give me a hand with this one...

I have iphoto on my Mac and have downloaded photos in the past.  Recently, I hooked up the camera and it and iphoto recognized the camara, but then when it gets to "Loading Camera" it just cycles and cycles and nothing happens.  It won't let me download photos...

You might have to rebuild the directories for iphoto.

Do you have a lot of photos in your iphoto library? – If so back them up.

To rebuild iphoto: (first be sure the camera or card reader is disconnected)

Start iPhoto while holding the shift+option keys. Don't release them until you're prompted to confirm the intent to rebuild. Click on "Yes", then click "Save". After that try connecting the camera/reader and import the images.

A couple other things to check:
1. Make sure you have enough HD space for your images you are trying to import
2. Make sure the disk/media card isn't locked.

Thanks for the info, but I finally got it working.  I think that it may have had something to do with the batteries being low in the camera.  I recharged them until they were full, then it worked. It is, however, much slower than it once was.  And no, I don't have lots of photos at all.  Under 100.

Did you try swearing at it?
This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love Fig Newtons.

Yes.   Swearing at it was the first thing that I tried.  Then I flipped it the bird.
