I was just reading this news over at TV Guide this morning as well.  Like others, I could definitely see Depp, but Cher...I don't think so.  I know that Nolan has been near perfect with these movies so far, but I just can't see this casting.  I'm sure its just rumor and all that, but I guess I just pictured a different Catwoman - and younger.  I would think this would be a much harder sell than the (at the time) controversial casting of Ledger as the Joker.

Depp ... feasible...

Cher... Unless Nolan is as looney as the Joker... rumor...

'Dark Knight' tops $500 million

Domestic Grosses

1 Titanic. $600,788,188.
2 The Dark Knight. $504,696,000.
3 Star Wars. $460,998,007.
4 Shrek 2. $441,226,247.
5 E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial. $435,110,554.

So adjusted for inflation, TDK comes in at #29. Not bad for 6 weeks.

It could conceivably be one well-timed, well publicized re-release away from toppling Titanic.

I could see that happening post-Oscars if Ledger gets consideration.  Still... $100 million is steep for a re-release.

I wouldn't be surprised if Titanic gets another theatrical release in 2012 to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the disaster.

Well I just don't see any point in that.  Isn't that when the world's supposed to end?   :D

She'd be good, but I picture the new Catwoman as younger.
