Anybody have some good links for pics of characters?  SW.com is pretty weak.  Basically what I'm looking for is the different costumes worn by a given character (like Padme) in a given movie (like AOTC).

That's what I would like. It's hard to remember all of the characters and their costume changes. But I've referred to Wookiwwpedia wardroom for Padme. It's quite good.

I was pretty surprised to see 8 ladies make the top 10 of AOTC...Padme usually does fairly well on the lists here so I guess I'm not that surprised.  I'm torqued they did a 4th Version of the Arena/Droid Factory outfit instead of one of the many other sculpts they could have chosen.  Fireplace Padme last year was a welcome addition but there are still far too many not made.   And don't even get me started on ROTS >:(

Very surprising results on the AOTC poll.  And while I see the importance of Padme as a character, I don't see the fascination with so many Padme figures.  Certainly, I can appreciate the Natalie Portman hotness angle, but it doesn't translate to figures for me.

Padme hasn't been one of the better selling characers in the basic figure line.  I see far too many fireside Padme's hanging on the pegs.  And I still see the ROTS Padme that was repacked in the TSC Greatest Battles line hanging around in a number of stores.

I have no doubt that Padme is going to remain a fixture in the line for the years to come, just like Leia.  I can see a good 1-3 a year occupying the Basic Figure and multi-pack lines.  I don't think we're going to get all of these in a short space of time.  I think the Evolutions pack is a great offering and achieves a lot for Padme fans.  And I think the Arena Padme was the most natural AOTC choice for that set.  Unless of course Hasbro chose to revisit the Theed Battle Padme as the TPM/action-oriented offering.

Also, I see that there were a couple of resculpt candidates in the top ten.  I think I had one on my own list, but that was it.  It's a little disheartening to see those instead of never before made characters.  But it's a poll, and this is what people have voted for.

It's a bummer to see Zam and Barriss score so low, but at least they both made it. :-\

Okay, I like all of your choices but I just have to ask... why is Chi Eekway on your list? Do you want a re-sculpt or Super Articulated version?

I still don't understand the need or want for a dead Padme.  ???

Necrophilia? Sadism? It's also like how some want a crispy Owen and Beru.

It's definitely kind of dark/twisted to want a figure of a corpse.

I'd love to see Crispy Owen and Beru, but I think I would only want Padme if she came with the two beasts that were there at the funeral, otherwise she'd be kinda boring.

I don't know about others, but I want funeral Padme because it's a beautiful dress (I guess that I like her wardrobe) and the connection between her and Anakin with the necklace he gives her in Phantom Menace. Otherwise, she really doesn't make much of an action figure.

Wouldn't Funeral Padme just be a figure with no points of articulation and her eyes closed?

Correct. She'd be the first inaction figure, wouldn't she?  ???

It's definitely kind of dark/twisted to want a figure of a corpse.

I'd like a Funeral Padme with Casket set just as much as I'd like a Vader with Funeral Pyre set.  I think both sets would make neat centerpieces for new scenes on my loose figure shelves and, for me, would be more interesting than seeing EU Jedi #34 and #35 filling out my Geonosis Arena.

Maybe it's morbid to some folks, but to me it's just another scene from the movies and not really any worse than the "partially electrocuted" Vader or "crispy fried" Anakin figures we've already seen.  ;)

I don't see the fascination with so many Padme figures.

That's what makes these polls so interesting.  Some folks would prefer all-new figures, some prefer to see resculpts of figures that they thought sucked, some would prefer nothing but Neimoidians.  Different strokes for different folks, as they say.

** edit:
And one other thing...

Year after year, I keep putting Toonbuck Toora on my AotC list.  The only problem is that I also have her on my TPM list.   ::)

Every year, I copy my old AotC list, paste it in the new thread, remove the names of figures we got, and then add the new names. And every year, after the tally is made, I look back and realize that I doubled up Toora... again.   ::)  ::)

I really need to fix that one of these years...   :-[
