I also wonder if the Boba will have the running change emblem or not. I would not mind having another to pilot the Slave 1 full time.

I was just looking through some of the SDCC pics again and noticed something I missed the first time through...

Makes me wonder which Fett is the final production deco one that we'll get?

The droid in the Fett set also seems to have two distinct paint jobs.  In the loose one the lower half of his face is light bluish gray (kind of a full beard), in the other (packaged) shot the bluish gray only covers around the "mouth" (like a goatee), maybe its just the lighting though.

I picked up all five sets for a complete dark trooper. It is true. These puppies are $17 EACH! That's terrible. We'll I guess I will have to pretend they are $7.72 each. Four crappy repack figures and six semi-new figures.

I'm afraid to open these things to find out of the Dark Trooper is actuated.

As crappy as it is to pay $85 (plus tax I'm assuming), that only works out to $7.72 (plus tax) per basic figure.  Pretty much the average as of late...  It's still at least $2 per set too much.

Basically SA-- wrists, ankles, hips, knees, the works.  It's just as good as any post-ROTS Clone Trooper, easily, plus the shoulder pads can move and the backpack is removable.   If this was a $15 exclusive figure by itself, in this era of $8 basic figures, you *might* be pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, WM's gone too far this time. Realistically, we're paying per figure, but still, I thought the point was to give us a deal. I'm going to sit on these and ask myself if I really want them.

Another annoying thing, the Corran uses the Luke X-wing body, complete with lightsaber.  >:(

Is the Grevious in these sets the same Grevious that came out a few months ago with a droid part?

Isn't that appropriate?  Corran was a Jedi, sure he may have had a different hilt on his saber, but its not inappropriate to the character, like say Wedge, for him to have one on his belt.

Well, that is just weird.  I would have preferred to get the ESB paintjob on that Animated Fett sculpt.  Oh well... :(

How disappointing on all fronts price Fett and figure selection. No comparison to last year when you break it down:

2008
Luke - Helmet Deco was nice and used solid pilot body with deco changes that can be used as other pilots.
R2 - Amazing new sculpt never before done
Kit Fisto - Vast improvement in paint over the first release
Kit's Droid - A very sweet deco of an R2 unit
Plo - More accurate coloring over the first release depending on the reference used
Plo's Droid - A very sweet deco of an R2 unit
Watto - a vast improvement to an otherwise dated but still acceptable figure. Nice upgrade.
Watto's Droid, yet again another great R2 Unit deco in a beat up look
Han Hoth - Great homage to vintage with the hood up
Red Protocol droid - Nice upgrade tusing current mold
Vader - Great for customs - that all
Vaders droid - Dumb but interesting and it's a new figure so good enough
C-3PX - Sweet BAD!
$10 a set

2009
Anakin - Nothing different. Decent for parts for customs.
CSBD - Stupid. Really Stupid. And a waste of tooling $$$.
Grevious - Outside of the cloth cape and sabers he is useless
Grevious R2 unit - ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ but at least it's a new deco.
Corran Horn - A new head and helmet. Cool enough. (That's crappy he has Luke's saber.)
Whistler - Same as above, good enough to warrant the purchase.
Boba Fett- Holiday Boba Fett,  how lousy is that. Most people did not mind getting another EvoFett because he was such a quality figure. It would have been great to do the Evo Fett in ROTJ colors, everyone would have loved that.
Boba Protocol droid - Coo,l he is new. At this point I am grateful.
Darth Maul - forced to buy this figure again (We have to get this **** in the TPM wave again to complete the droid). Why not the regular one, he would have been better for custom parts, a extra pilot for the Speeder Bike or Infiltrator.
DM Droid - Cool enough it's different.
Darktrooper - I am sure it's a sweet figure but it's not worth spend $200 to have 2.
$17 a set

I was planning on buying 2 of each set to have two of these but I am on the fence now seeing all the disappointing news regarding the new sets.

Why is it an issue for Corran to have the same hilt as Luke?  The Luke saber is from ANH & ESB, right?  The one that was Anakin's, right?  Corran was also a Jedi, in one of the books he found what was his grandfather's (IIRC) saber in a jedi museum, or was it some sort of trophy room that Palpatine had...  In any case, Corran's saber could have been a similar vintage to Luke's so its no inconceivable that they would have similar designs, is it?  Now that's an long justification, for sure, but I can't recall too many visuals of Corran and his saber, so I'm willing to give Hasbro a pass on that.

Other than that, I'm right with you on the rest of the figures.  Some are nice, but none are individually, or even collectively, worth the pricing.  I think Hasbro and Walmart really messed up.  Walmart should focus on high volume exclusives as they are going to be primarily bought by people who happen to be in Walmart, as opposed to Diamond Exclusives (for example), which are more likely to be bought by someone specifically looking for that item, in which case a higher margin is more appropriate.  Raising the price on an item isn't going to encourage it to sell through faster, if anything it'll slow sales further (at a time when the economy is down, so sales would have likely been slower ceterus parabus).
