The head is suppose to be Joe Johnston......good thing I have plenty of extra DSG heads to replace it with.

I hear you JOT I rather have a bunch of Jango clones running around my Empire the Joe Johnston clones running around in it.  Although it was kinda cool that Hasbro did that, I wonder what the card back will look like, hopefully not the micrscopic pic from the movie of the 2 watching the Falcon.

Looks like they may have modified a base Sandtrooper to accept a new backpack, and given him a new head & newish helmet.

It might be something new, look at the backs of clones.  We got the "deluxe" jet pack thingy clone, the #41 Antenae clone, Cody pack thing, Gree antenae, Scuba clone, all have different backs which in a way sucks cause none of them are interchangable which would've been cool like Joe's can wear each other gear.

I like that the butt of the rifle is wooden - seems likely that the Empire would utilize wood in their off planet blaster technology.

I for one am glad the immortalized Joe Johnston.  He's one of my heroes, and he doesn't get nearly enough credit compared to McQuarrie.

3 Things that Johnston did that "made" Star Wars

1. He story-boarded and designed most of the Death Start Attack in ANH

2. He designed the Millenium Falcon!

3.  He freakin' hand painted the original Boba Fett costume!

So just looking him over, he's a pretty great army builder...  Removable helmet, unique yet generic headsculpt underneath (No Clone, yay!), a cool new blaster, a cool new backpack...  I'm down for many of these.  Very nice.

Good stuff!  One'll suffice for me, but I need to think of a unique way to display him...

And we're back tonight with more new loose photos of figures.  Check out:

Head to the front page to take a gander...  All 3 are pretty great looking figures so far, and all 3 come with nice accessories it seems.  Especially Trinto and Dice.  That's just cool getting a diminutive alien as the "accessory".  Doesn't look like any of the figures got shorted on articulation or whatnot either from the images we've seen before and now.

I have no idea how to remember or even care about Brainiac's new name, so now he's still Brainiac. :)

Very nice.  I'm excited about this wave.  2009 will be great.  New aliens, new droids.  Awesome.

I think Wioslea looks the best of the alien bunch.  Trinto kinda looks like a burn victim.  Hmm...I hope the end product will be better.

I'm digging Trinto mostly becaues he was very visible in his short sequence.

I don't know about you guys but I'm wishing the ROTS wave would get here and get gone so we can get some friggin' Cantina aliens, a Space Trooper, etc.  And I even liked most of the ROTS figures a lot.

Nice pics. I wonder if Wioslea shares any components with the new Obi-Wan? It looks like they could "cost out" this figure quite easily by only producing new hands, head and some paint while using the Obi-Wan body and robe.

What I find interesting is that Hasbro allocates funds and resources to articulating Dice Ibegon (and the new Rotta the Huttlet for that matter) but they leave out key articulation points (ball joint elbows & knees) off of figures that really need it.

I like that the butt of the rifle is wooden - seems likely that the Empire would utilize wood in their off planet blaster technology.

Also, you can see the Imperial Insignia on the one side of the stock. (Similar to how on Bane Malar's rifle stock has Jabba's Clan Insignia.)

I wonder if that little handle at the top of the gun moves, it doesn't look molded to the gun it looks like a seperate piece.

Wioslea's head sculpt looks SO much better than that last hi-def pic, so I'm thrilled about that.  Seems like its mouth is less prominent than I thought, and the eyes look terrific.  I'm not sure I like Dice's upper tentacle limbs, but I suppose I can articulate them downward a bit to de-emphasize them.
