Clone Voice Changer Helmets
« on: July 4, 2008, 12:19 AM »
I gotta admit, I bought the Vader helmet and the Clone helmet's somewhat interesting I think...  Anyone even remotely considering getting one of these?  I'm gonna wait for a sale/clearance as the Vader helmet came down significantly, but still I wouldn't mind having the Clone helmet.

And speaking of, we've got boxed photos of one just now thanks to our anonymous sources.

I see they've got a photo with the helmet's "lamp/projector" feature we first reported back before Toy Fair. ;)

Seems that wasn't such a rumor afterall...

That's a great role play piece.  I won't buy it as I have most of the Master Replicas helmets and my melon's probably too large anyway.  But great toy for the kiddos.

I'd imagine that is actually the "Torch Version" Listed on Blister.jp.

I personally won't pick it up. Unless it's on clearance. Afterall, look at the eFX version  ;D

Saw this yesterday at 2 different walmart in my area.  trying to send the pics with my phone but having troubles.  there's lots of different phrases.  one even says "I've got a bad feeling about this" which was kind of funny.

yeah it is pretty cool add the foam clone blaster and it's even better.  GH is also reporting it found at Walmart, and I think RS has something about a "torch" flashlight attachment on the side.  It does have a little interlocking looking thing on it but I thought it'd be for future rangefinder for an ARC version.  I'll definatley pick this up later.

But great toy for the kiddos.

Yep - the kids love this kind of stuff.

The Vader voice changer is one of the best toys ever.  Imaginative role play is great for younger kids and something they could use more of.

I might pick this one up.

I loved the Vader helmet...  And now that I see the Clone Projector we reported on back before Toy Fair is actually coming on a second helmet (Unless prices are different, why the change though?  Wouldn't the kid rather have the light/projector?).  That's cool stuff, and I should say a personal thanks to our source for their pre-Toy Fair info on that Clone Helmet...  The source was as confused as the rest of us as to where the feature disappeared to, actually. ;)

Pretty cool stuff though...  And I'm pretty sure I'll get a Clone helmet.  I'm thinking of waiting for sales like I mentioned, but I may not if the cash is there.  The helmet's much cooler, but like Brent I find that my noggin' doesn't fit in the Vader helmet well...  Yes I tried it on.  I'll try the Clone one on too, as it's quite nifty looking.

Driving with it on with the top down would be rather fun.

I thought it was announced/confirmed  shortly after Toy Fair that there would end up being multiple versions of the helmet released?

For sure, there were rumors for at least two versions thanks to the Target DPCIs back in March:
 - Target DPCI = 087-06-1349 - Clone Trooper Voice Changer Helmet ($29.99)
 - Target DPCI = 087-06-2065 - SW Clone Wars Voice Change Helmet ($34.99)

and two versions were confirmed when all those instruction sheets were leaked...
 - Basic Version: http://hasbro.com/common/instruct/87627.pdf
 - "with Light" Version: http://hasbro.com/common/instruct/87845.pdf

It was rumored that the "with light" version was going to be a Target exclusive, but I'm not sure if that is still the case or not...

Ah, I had forgotten about the DPCI numbers.  That makes those make sense then...  I didn't read the instruction sheet for the lighted one though.  I didn't recall seeing that one posted anywhere.

Funny how the $34.99 version has no mention of the light or exclusivity in the description.

My son will want any roleplay item in a heartbeat.  I am sure this will either be a Christmas or birthday present (birthday is in November).

I wonder if they'll make a Cody version, just add visor and paint there you go.
