Legacy Wave 8 - The Phantom Menace

Yeah, it's kinda annoying. The other day when I went hunting for this wave and found nothing but the repacks.

There are 6 new figures in the wave, and they're all shipping one to a case.  The rest of the case are a bunch of repacks on the new card.  Definitely fodder for asking WTF?!?!

Same goes for the ROTJ wave as I reported in the other thread. I bought 2 cases of that and 1 of the TPM cases I had 18 figure I really did not need, luckily I was able to a nice chunck. (I resorted to selling the complete BAD's to help pay for them) It's clear that it is Hasbro's answer to revive Legacy sales by having more kid favorite variety. Why it's clear, you have a ROTJ wave with EP2 Anakin, EP2 Obi-wan and Jango Fett repacked in it. Every case for the rest of this year is like that. I expect this to be the "norm" for awhile until sales pick up on the line formally known as core. (It needs a nifty symbol like Prince)

Nice cantina pic Micheal!  I (like Greedo) am far more impressed with Tonnikaboobies though.   

Can you believe Greedo's eyes are really the size of an average human's, and they only popped out like that after he turned to his right?

I ordered the whole wave - no coupon codes work for me either.  I have no confidence that TLC will show up this fall in any great numbers, so I'm ordering everything online.  Stores here are stuffed with CW, which sells, or TLC wave 5, which doesn't.

I finally saw one figure from this wave at Wal-Mart last night, Obi-Wan Kenobi. I couldn't get myself excited enough to buy it though, so I just left it there.

Thank the sweet Gods, I finally nabbed my Rumsleg today. Target just stocked the pegs this morning with the TPM Wave. What a huge ******* relief.

It worked on my Titanium order and those three ships are cherry picked out of a repack case just like the figures are.  Wonder why it wouldn't apply to those.

Got the whole wave today at Target. Was my third and final store of the day and the first time I've seen any of them beyond the repacks.

Got Amidala...  I really don't care about Amidala's many outfits, and at $8 a pop I would've probably passed other than the droid part and not knowing who is repacked with this one in particular.

Eh, it's a start...  I'm looking forward to, basically, everyone else when I find them.

I've found two of the Obi-Wan's recently, and the likeness is not all that great.  Shame since they got Ewan's face dead on in the AOTC version and Alec Guinness's on the ANH version from earlier this year.  Plus, what's up with the grey trousers?  They were white in the movie IIRC.

Still a nice figure, just comes up a bit short.
