Fan-*******-tastic.

PS - Silk Spectre gives me the hawt...

PSS - Think this film warrants it's own thread?  Admittingly, it's probably going to be a cult film and just the fanboys will eat it up (at least until positive word of mouth), so the average movie goer won't see it like The Dark Knight or Iron Man, but I think it has enough fans on this site to get it's own thread.

Apparently a new Watchmen trailer variant is out on Sky Movies.

new Watchmen trailer

Quote
new While it contains many scenes that have appeared in previous Watchmen trailers, we're pretty sure we've spotted Rorschach as a child, Dollar Bill and his cape and the original Silk Spectre...

So much better when they play "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning", fits the Watchmen well.   8)

Also, someone has posted the footage/trailer that was originally shown at Comic-Con this year.  It may be old news, but it was something I hadn't seen before.

To me having never read or heard of the graphic novel before, the Watchmen movie just looks weird and random. Nothing looks recognizable and I have no idea what the plot would be. I don't see it as being a commerical success since the general movie goer doesn't know who these super heros are.

Might be a good idea to actually read the graphic novel. Just a thought.

I'm really looking forward to this. Zack Snyder and Jackie Earle Haley alone are brilliant choices.

You need to call me one of these days so I can tell you about it.

My point is most people are not going to read the graphic novel and therefore have no connection to these characters and will not see this movie. It looks strickly like a fanboy only movie. I don't think it will do as well as a typical Spiderman or Batman movie. People know Marvel and DC characters enought to actually know who the characters are because of television. These guys look like a throwback to some 40s comic book or a rip off of some Marvel characters. Granted it looks neat but still I have no idea from the preview alone what it is all about.

The plot of the original comics was pretty much a mystery until the next to last issue.  I hope they don't reveal too much in the previews... it'd ruin the experience.
