...basically the eyes are the only major flaw with this figure (though I think they could've given him shoes).... Saurins aren't Trandoshans, so it's almost like they're trying to mix the two, weird).

According to wookieepedia, Saurins are a sub-species of Trandos.

No shoes for you!

EU's ignorable, and so I chose to do so on that one...  That's what I meant about them trying to mix them.

I lump that type of crap in with everyone knowing the main characters somehow, Wilrow Hood being a Rebel because he just can't be some guy running away, and all that other BS.

I'm lumping the Saurin/Trandoshan link right in with Neimoidians and Duros...  Two different species, just similar.

And I even like EU! :)  I just hate the need writers have, to tie everything together.  It's kind of like Wampa logos on ARC fighters when Wampas seemed to be a bit of an enigma to the Alliance...  I guess the zoological records from the Clone Wars era were lost maybe.  ::)

Sorry for the EU rant...  It's the most annoying thing about it, to me.

Well, that and all the blatantly stolen **** from the NJO era stuff bugs me too.

The Kal Fas solution is low maintenance so i'm not too bothered. But i wonder if Hasbro got permission or were instructed by lucasfilm to go with the Bossk look- to make a visual connection between legacy and later Clone Wars product.?  Doesn't Kal Fas hit the shops around the time of the hour long CW season two debut?

She's not super impressive, I like the saurin way better.  I don't know what she needs, maybe a wash or more toning on all the pink limbs or something.

She's not the best, but weird Cantina is always cool.  The paint does make this particular copy look a little cheap.

She probably looks better in hand. I'm glad they made her.

While she is far from my first choice (In fact I think she is really stupid) I am happy to see all the cantina patrons get made. I hope they make some of the scraggly humans too. But I want a new Ponda and Dr first. The POTF2 ones are so dated.

I think she looks cheap due to the source material...  It, as a costume, looks like a cheap Star Trek alien from the original series, haha.

The pink seems fine to me...  She's not all leathery and stuff, so I think washes may dillute the fleshy look...  It's like washes on human skin.  It doesn't often look right except in the world of war, to dirty figures up so they don't look fresh out of bootcamp. :)

We got an early proto image of Lesub if anyone's curious about the sculpt details on her...

I think she'll make good custom fodder.

She reminds me more of Mork with that costume.

Eyes being corrected on Hr'chek Kal Fas:

RS
Quote
With regards to the eyes, there are two Saurins in the Cantina. One of them has clear dome lenses and the other, in some reference shots, does not and appears to have pupils. As you can see in the painted image of the figure on the back of the package, we never intended him to have gold eyes with black pupils. This was just a production variant from our China vendor, and we have actually already made a production correction to the eyes to give him black eyes.

Just got notice from BBTS that my set of this wave is in stock and ready to ship.  The onslaught continues ;).  Happy to hear they are getting out there soon though, although probably not at retail anytime soon the way things have been going.
