return of the sarlacc
« on: April 1, 2009, 05:30 AM »
The San Diego Star Wars society went to buttercup valley to visit the set location of the sarlacc pit on Sat 03/28/09. we have one member that was there during shooting and remembered exactly where is was at. we dug up lots of foam and boards that still have paint on them. some members even found parts of the tentacles. i have a few small noticeable pieces with paint if anyone wants them. one per person LMK.here are some pics

Great pic!  It must've been cool to know what really happened in that desolate place.  ;)

desolate, no hwy8 runs right through it  :D the only thing left are the fence posts that where cut down after the shot. they stick out about an inch from the ground in some spots.its a big bowl and flat on the bottom.after we found the fence lines the guy told us where to go dig.

That's pretty damn cool Solrac.  Do you have more pics of the pieces you unearthed?  It'd be kind of neat to actually own a piece of the set, even if it's utterly unidentifiable, haha.

Finding a tentacle?  now that's a neat thing to find...  Noticeable stuff in general would be neat to have, like pieces of the barge or whatnot.

That is very cool. Great photos, thanks for sharing.

I've been contemplating a trip out there myself. I think that would be a lot of fun.  :)
