Looks like this TRU Interceptor has been confirmed at SDCC...

pic at GH

Don't know if they will show it in the booth or not, but it's definitely coming...

Okay this is a purchase for me. Price will dictate multiple purchases or not.

(After nabbing the AT-TE for $50, it's going to be a hard sell for me to buy starfighters at $40 or more.)

If the color is a blue-grey, I"m in.  If it's light grey though, I'll pass due to inaccuracy.

Love the cockpit resculpting though, very nice.

Great... another variant pilot that I have to buy a vehicle to get.

Anyone want an extra TIE fighter minus the pilot?

Rob, I'm pretty sure I read someplace this weekend (don't recall where) that the TRU Interceptor Pilot is just the new Evoluitions TIE Pilot.  If you look at the SSG pic linked above, you will see the same helmet stripes and holster/blaster as the recent pics of the Walmart Evolutions TIE Pilot figure.

Interesting.  I thought the stripes on the helmet made it the EU pilot, and that the Evolutions one was going to be a straight OT pilot.

Matt, if they're the same I won't have one, but if they end up being even slightly different, I'll let you know.

That was what I had origianlly thought too then I took a closer look at one of Vader's Pilots from ANH and the stripes are actually there:

What's with the grey stripes on the TIE pilots helmet? Is that supposed to be a unit designation? I had always thought that they were just light coming in from the top windows, but I looked at the screenshot closer and now they do actually look like stripes to me.

I always thought it was a light thing until I got an HDTV.

If you're talking about the grey "tear" stripes coming from the pilots helmet eyes, those denote that that specific TIE pilot is an ACE pilot. Meaning at least 3 kills as a pilot.

So the stripes are actually film accurate. I think I'll have to try and remove stripes from most of mine, not all of my TIE pilots can be ace pilots.

I originally had no intentions of picking this up, but seeing the pics (and the ejection seat) does make it a little more tempting.  Once again, there is just so much stuff to try and pick up in the back half of the year, it is going to be tough to keep up.
