Great start on these guys James. I really like the way you used that VTSC Bespin Luke for ole Walrusman. That's some good stuff. This sure is going to be a very clsoe contest, all the entries have been great so far. :)

Here is my entry for the " TOP 40 Custom Contest ".   This is the Super articulated Weequay Skiff Master ( a.k.a. Skiff Guard ). He was made from not so long ago released , Sora Bulq  ( Weequay Jedi ) released on the 30th aniversary card.

Recipe:

Apoxie sculpt...........................................shirt, shoulder pads , wrist guantlets
Re-worked...............................................shirt portion , hair
Fooder parts............................................belt , gold studs across chest
Repainted entire figure to match character....Model master Acryl

This picture shows all three stages. Left to right: The 1998 original, center: Sora Bulq  , last: Custom by QUANTUM 7 - Weequay Skiff Master

This pic is my custom on display with my skiff...Hope everyone enjoys and thanks for letting me share!!!

Great improvement man, that's some really good stuff. You did a great job of making the head not look like Sora anymore. That Nikto looks like a bang up job too. :)

Great looking Weequay, Quantum7 and welcome to JD! Splendid job on his head and torso, very true to the original one. Great retooling of the head as well, like Ryan mentiond Speaking of the original one, the first Weequay was the '83 Kenner figure  ;) Inmho that one has one of the best damn poses of the Kenner line and an equally quality head sculpt.

Just want to check something though: how many poa should an SA figure for this contest have? I thought at least 14: head, shoulders, elbows, waist, knees, feet (ball jointed) and hands, hips (swivel).

Super Artiuculation is not required for ALL the catagories.  Remember there will be 5 (at least) prizes handed out.

3 by the vote of the people and 2 by Staffers.

:) No, I didn't say that, I just noticed you using the term "SA" and the question came up in my mind. It's just I wanted some clarity on this matter for the participants, so there can be no discussion. And like Paul said, not all characters have to be SA, such as Weequay. I'm making an Endor Soldier, which has to be SA....

< goes upstairs to count the poa..... >

Phew, yep! Counted 14  ;D

Here's a WIP shot, by the way:

Mr. Aloo's hat will be out of the oven soon, then I just have to paint it and he'll be all ready to go!

I'm SO excited to share this custom. It's only the second time I've COMPLETELY painted a custom (I usually just do kit bashes with little or no paint) and it's the first time I've ever sculpted anything! I've had a lot of fun working on it and learned a lot for future customs.

I also think I used some non-Star Wars parts pretty creatively. ;) Okay, the timer just went off! Pictures coming soon!
