Any Members of the 501st Here?

Are there any members of the 501st Legion?  I went to a local prop/replica party yesterday, and met a bunch of guys/gals who are part of the Midwest Garrison of the 501st.  I'm VERY MUCH interested in acquiring my own Stormtrooper armor someday... hopefully by the end of this year.

So, I was just curious if any of our JediDefender members were part of the 501st.  If you're part of the 501st, please share your experiences with us.  If you have photos online, please give us the URL so we can check it out.  Thanks everyone!

Let's see...  Off the top of my head I would say:

Josh
Karen (Karma)
Wayne (reconsgt)

and David (Boba Binks) used to be...

It would definitely be cool to snag one of those Stormtrooper costumes though.  Those things are sweet!  Remind me folks, what does the average cost on one of those things run (including the black body suit underneath)?  I want to guess about $800 - $1,000...

At this party I heard that you can get the armor/helmet/belt for about $500.  Then you have to pay separately for the boots, gloves, fan/communicator for the helmet, undergarment and gun, which can bring you close to $1,000.  If you want to be a Sandtrooper it would be more for the pauldron, backpack and rifle.

I first have to get a job again, but I think I might be able to have one of these by the end of the year.  I'm sure hoping so!

David, are you still in the 501st, or did you retire from it?  I can't recall now.  I might've been confusing your departure from it with the Indy Knights instead...

Yeah, that was the party over at Rob's house.  I obviously met him, but couldn't speak much with him because he was running all over his house supervising the party.  There were about 50 people or more there, and the majority of them were all members of the 501st.  Not really any others from Rebelscum that I met there.  There really weren't many toy collectors at all there.  It was still an awesome time.

I haven't clicked around much but gotta wonder about snowtroopers.   It is a very well done website.  

It certainly is tempting.  Always having a Halloween costume as well would be nice.  My wife might divorce me...

I am a member of the 501st. I am not real active as of late. There isn't many members in WI so Chicago is usually the closest armor parties.  I do want to become more active in the future. I have  tie pilot outfit and am working on he funds for more armor.  I have sold my royal guard stuff.
 I still participate via the garrison forums and chat with our state commander from time to time but am waiting probably till next summer to have the time to attend cons and other events.

As a matter of fact I have a few just waiting for me to upgrade my computer.
I do have one I think on a role of film I am putting on a disc . Its not the full suit just me on my motorcyle riding with my tie helmet on. I will post when I can.

 Are you looking at getting into the 501st or are you in.
 I can give you a hand in finding stuff if you need it.
