Clone Wars General Battle Pack Thread
« on: December 22, 2009, 10:14 AM »
So I searched for an existing thread on this topic and found none. Mods - please feel free to merge if I am in error.

The first wave of TCW Battlepacks for 2010 is now In Stock and available to order from all the major e-tailers. (Brian's Toys, BBTS, EE, etc)

"Holocron Heist" and "Jedi Showdown" appear to be straight repacks, as has been speculated elsewhere.

I'd love to hear from anyone who plans on ordering these, or better yet, if anyone finds these in an actual brick and mortar store.

Wow, thanks, that is great to hear! I was wondering where they would hit first...

Is there a new/unique DCPI code for this wave?

I just checked the Target website but of course neither BP is listed yet.

No, since they aren't exclusive.

We got these in... maybe a month ago?  Pretty unremarkable as far as new stuff goes.  Hopefully they'll be good for kids, because I wasn't able to squint and find a good reason to open a set yet.

Yeah, I've been wondering what was taking them so long to hit retail outlets...that's a pretty good lag, IMO.

I wasn't planning on buying these originally but now I want them more or less because I know there is nothing else coming out between now and August except for TCW Wave 3, which is still a month off.

I was 0-4 for Targets on my lunch run. Maybe I'll have better luck tonight~

JTA reports this morning that the new BP's have been spotted at TRU as well. Hooray!

Our local TRU's restock today, so I will head out shortly and report back with any findings.

You guys got them in again this past week as well - my outstanding order for a case of the four "new" battlepacks was shipped on Thurs.

I'll give them a scrutinizing once-over when they arrive, but I did see a Holocron Heist set at a Target on Friday and I looked that one over pretty good - even compared the Bane to the carded version (which was also in the store) and that looked the same.

The Anakin in that set looks to be the Spacesuit one and not the first Anakin release. Ashoka and Yoda also didn't seem different, but I didn't have comparison figures for those.

I saw this latest wave all over town today.  This was perhaps the biggest "meh" I've ever done in a toy aisle.  I think they're good for kids/presents for sure, with lots of hero characters, but wow.  Major pass.

Holocron Heist and Jedi Showdown are literally the last 2 pieces of TCW swag I need until August. I'm hoping these will be hitting here locally just as hard...I was away all weekend and did 0 runs.

Anyone spot these at a Walmart yet?

Not a single one has shown up locally at TRU or Target, starting to get concerned...

I've seen a bunch between three TRUs. If you need, I could pick up for you.

Thanks, I may take you up on that if I go another couple of days without finding these. Appreciate the offer!

hey, if you're still seeing these, shoot me a PM. I've officially given up on ever seeing these at a store around here. The delay is insufferable.
