Best add in the two Kub chases, to be fair:

J-slot $159
L-slot $169

That was it for September.

Just bought the first thing in October:

GG Animated Obi-Wan Kenobi maquette - $43.80 shipped  8) - only need Palpatine to be caught up to what I want.

$62.52 for seven ROTJ figures.

Add November in here:
GG AT-AT Driver and Tie Fighter Busts $96 shipped.
$54 for six ANH figures

Figured I'd total up the purchases to this point so far (2009/11/17) and the total expenditures are: 1336.82

Not bad considering I sold about $1200 worth of stuff back in January and then more through April plus a couple of big ticket items that will bring in about the same again.  Looking to be a net negative year.

Worth mentioning I just dumped some SW stuff (Lego, FX sabers, etc.) in nine auctions to bring in $880+  8)

Adding in a December purchase: $65 Animated Emperor maquette (shipped)

 January - $97
  February - $218
  March - $252
  April - $459
  May - $206
  June - $133
  July - $221
  August - $28
  September - $163
  October - $187
  November - $119
  December - $43

2009 January through June - $1365
2009 July through December - $675

  2009 YTD - $2040

So the year isn't quite done yet... but I don't know that I'll be spending much in the next week. I'm very proud of myself for how close I came to my goal of $2000. I went over by $40, but it was a very top heavy year for me. I At the beginning of the year I was on pace to go over by close to $1000.

Since June I only over went over $200 in a month, once. I had three months under $100, including December in which I actually made money. In the second half of the year, I spent half as much as I did in the first six months. If April had been a normal month I'd have made the goal by a few hundred bucks.

We'll see what happens next year, but I'd like to at least stay about the same, if not cut down on that total.

Yay me. :)

Just calculated my total... $2885 even. Spent way too much this year, but most of it was all on freaking awesome bargains (flatscreen TV for $340, etc.). My main goal is to cut back on DVDs and such next year, so we'll see how that goes.

February: $154.00 US.
March: $1298.34 US.
April: $283.41 US.

Total to date: $2042.72 US.

Update for April end: $702.41.

Total thus far:  $2436.41.   $2745.13 US.

May was not too bad, nothing at that toy show so the cost was down.

May: $133.50.

Total to date:  $2569.84 US.   $2878.63 US.

I'm still waiting on the preorders to come in, Kuby's, Sideshow, Animated Maquettes, Character Keys & such. Those will be added when they come in, Oy those Kuby's are going to be a killer.  :P

Good god, June was a killer! The Kuby preorders came in & running around trying to complete the sets plus other Kuby's & other stuff. Oy!

June: $1840.02 US.

Total to date:  $4409.86 US.    $4718.65 US.

I haven't posted in here since June but I did keep records of my spending habit & corrected the adding errors in my last post.  :-[

July: $922.84 US.  Total: $5642.49 US.
August: $385.43 US.  Total: $6026.92 US.
September: $246.44 US.  Total: $6273.36 US.
October: $476.94 US.  Total $6750.30 US.
November: $530.74 US.  Total: $7281.04 US.
December: $778.54 US  Total: $8059.58 US.

2009 Grand Total: $8059.58 US.

I'm up $740.02 US from last year.   ::)   :-\

Quote
I am done for the year, a litte lower this time around. Slowed down as I was saving $$$ for buying a house.  8)

OK, time for my tally:

2004 = $9858.00 US. Approx.
2005 = $6000.00 to $8000.00 US.
2006 = $7343.60 US.

End of the year tally... $12903.96 US.

Sure can't wait till the new year.  :-X

Tally for year end 2008... $7319.56 US. That is the lowest I have been in awhile, I even beat out the 2006 tally by $24.04.

Pats self on back.

And to think I stopped collecting modern SW stuff... Oy!  ::)

With new Kuby's coming out & a bit of a slow down on animated maquettes & character keys & slowly picking up on my Space 1999 focus, I should be fine for next year but then again... C5.   >:D

2010... bring it on.  ;D

Plus I'm all ready in the hole for next year with Brent's help.  ;D

Quite extraordinarily pleased to only spend a shade under $1500 this past year, a rather substantial decrease for me to say the least over a few years back.

At this point I'm not sure where my collecting is going.  I know I'll purge a great deal of modern stuff over the next twelve months, that's my main goal: to get the pile of stuff in the basement out of there.  If it doesn't go in the room, it gets sold.  I'll still collect - some GG stuff; maquettes and mini-busts I like and we'll see what else fits in.  Trying to decide if I want to keep going on the carded vinty figures, I reckon I'm a third to halfway done those, most on original release cardbacks or trilogos.  I have maybe half the Star Wars and half the ESB carded versions, but some monstrously pricey stuff left to obtain yet.  The ROTJ stuff worries me not at all as I have a lot in trilogo anyway.  I just have limited space that I'm unwilling to expand upon so some decisions ahead.  Thankfully many lines I really enjoyed stopped a while back or I've become or continue being really selective.

The finally tally:

2009 -  $2,385.34  -  My best year since I started keeping track (good lord, 2005 was an insane year!).

2008 -  $4,923.98
2007 -  $2,682.12
2006 -  $7,960.96
2005 - $15,106.89

I see myself continuing to enjoy three areas of collecting:

1. Darth Vader focus - just about anything and everything.  An area I've particularly enjoyed this year is foreign Vader bootlegs, mostly loose ones.

2. Galactic Heroes - the addiction continues and I'm a completist on this line.  In fact, I started a blog this year to share my pain. ;)

3. Loose Hasbro figures - I'll always add first-ever figures to my displays, but these days that's about 97% Original Trilogy goodness.

I've already sold off a ton of loose Prequel figures, but I think 2010 may be the year I part with a large portion of my carded collection - E1, SAGA, and ROTS.  I still really enjoy my POTF2, POTJ (OT only), and CW (from 2003/04).
