I definitely prefer the Sith eyes.  It seems very odd that they would show such a radically different Anakin as the loose sample.  Glad to get some clarification on this though.

Check the photos.  You can see VERY clear differences between the two Anakins.

If Hasbro confirms it, great.  If not, great.  My only point is there is no point in folks panicking about a variant that may not be real...

Then again, that's pretty much the whole point of the internet.

YakFace is reporting that Anakin is going to have a variant with a "more accurate" Darth Vader nameplate on the card. Blasphemy!

Well...the nitpickers would be mad if it did not say Darth Vader.  Let's face it...he is Darth Vader at that point during the film.

When was wondering why the card said "Anakin Skywalker" on it. But oh well. While "Darth Vader" makes more sense to collectors and fans, it'll cause confusion for kids anyways. But I'm happy with the change.

Out of costume = Anakin
In costume = Vader

But that's just my "messed up" way of looking at it. :)

We just received a nifty Wave 2 Carded Magna Guard image...

Clicky to check him out!

This and Palps are my favorites from the ROTS wave, though Anakin's right up there too since I've wanted an update for him for a while now.

Love the Magna Guard though.  He was among my top ROTS resculpts I wanted done.

Ooooh, purty. I don't get the inclusion of ANOTHER droid blaster, though. I like the spiffy new electrostaff - electricity at the end was a nice touch. It's definitely better than the original puny ones.

I like the blaster...  First for play value, and in general any extra value as well...  But I also envision the Magna Guards being skilled with both weapons.  The electro-staffs don't do them well against certain enemies except Jedi, so the blaster's a cool addition I think.

Not a necessity, but appreciated.

I'm easily picking up a dozen of these I figure...  I'm hopeful they'll do variants as well, or at least the movie blue variant anyway.

In some of the magna guard images the energy effect looks like the right color, but on this new image and the loose sample it looks red. Which do you think the final production piece will have?

I noticed that too. Considering this is a final packaged sample, my best gues is that the energy effect will look red. :(

I will probably buy one to replace the one "piloting" my magnaguard fighter.
This is the way.

This image is a production sample, so it's probably a pretty good indicator of what you'll see on shelves as far as deco and whatnot.

It would have been neat if they could have packed in the other colored shoulder pads with the Sandtrooper. I'm no army builder, but I would have gotten a few extra just to have one of each color with the ball hips. Imagine the sales from the army builders.
