2010 "Vintage" Collection Wave 4 - AotC
« on: February 3, 2010, 01:23 PM »
So, according to info from Hasbro we should be seeing an AotC based wave this year...

Thoughts on who you'd like to see show up?  Have any line-up guesses based on Q&A answers?

Me?  I'm hoping for a new Padme (Senator Dress would be nice) and Cleigg Lars... oh, and maybe a new Zam Wessell for those that keep asking for one.

I don't know what the whole repack situation is, but I'd like to see a repack of the Evolutions Jango with the PROPER BLUE coloring, and possibly a repack of the Coleman Trebor from the Target Geonosis sets. I'd like a Meadow Picnic Padme but after seeing the ESB wave I wouldn't be surprised if we got "Clawed" Padme based off of the Evolutions figure.

New figures? I'd like Cliegg and Zam, possibly a new lil' Boba.

Zam is a definite want for me as is Clegg but I wonder if his hover 'round would fit with this bubble, unless he was released as a pre-maimed figure.  :P

Zam definitely needs an upgrade.
Cliegg would be nice, but you know Hasbro would just say, "He's not action oriented enough."
Boy Wonder Boba Fett would be a good consideration for this.

I can see Anakin and Obi-wan though as reissues, so long as they are the best articulated versions.

Damn, I can see me getting sucked into buying 2 of each of these, one to open and one carded....My wife is going to LOVE that...(sarcasm alert).

I'm fairly happy with what we have from AOTC, but I think my most wanted figure from this movie at this point would be a re-done Zam Wessell.  I was reorganizing the collection over the past couple weeks, and looking at the previous figures, they were pretty bad.  Plus, she's a fairly significant background character, with lines, and a bounty hunter to boot - so it would be good to see an all-new version.  Otherwise, I'm on board with Clegg Lars and little Boba as well.  Although the previous version was pretty nice itself, I wouldn't mind seeing what Hasbro could do with an all-new Dexter Jettster.  Maybe a tougher sell on these "vintage" cardbacks since he's a heftier figure, but the way the sculpting and articulation has improved, they could make it pretty spiffy.  Again, there are other figures that could probably be done first, but it might be cool to see.

AOTC has a lot of possibilities yet I think...

-The 2 human Jedi that toss Ani/Obi sabers
-Pablo Jill resculpt?  I'd like him more articulated for sure
-Super Duper Phase 1 Clone Trooper with ball-jointed hips and a removable helmet?
-Zam Wessel (my most wanted resculpt of this movie, hands down)
-Corrected Jango
-Training Fatigues Clone with better legs and both color uniforms?
-New young Boba Fett (though I believe Hasbro's all but said this one's off the table)
-New Senate Jar Jar (yeah, I said it!)
-other random background Jedi from the arena
-New Barriss Offee
-Dooku's Pilot Droid
-Some Outlander people
-New Pilot Padme
-New Pilot Typho
-New headsculpt Anakin
-Outlander Ani
-Outlander Padme
-Rickshaw Droid
-Cleig

Not a ton again, but there's some things to pick through from AOTC still I think.

I am thinking the following have a good shot.

Kamino Obi Wan Kenobi (Rain slicked hair)
Kamino Jango Fett (with the backpack from that scene)
Anakin Coruscant
Zam Wessel
Yoda Duel
Count Dooku Duel

I am getting tired of Arena Anakin, Kenobi, Padme - Then again they have the most action in the arena.

Cleig would be great but I am not sure they want to make this guy.

I think Zam Wessel is a definite for this wave - I don't remember which site, but in their recent Q&A one of Hasbro's answers to a question about ultimate sculpts and updating sculpts, they specifically mentioned Zam Wessel as a figure that could use updating, so that to me is a good indicator that an update is coming. Otherwise, why specifically mention her? They could have just as easily said "Hoth Gear Leia"

A Jango Fett repaint has pretty much been locked up for this wave.  That one was confirmed right here.  I think Jango is one of those characters that would actually look good on the vintage card.

As for the rest of the wave?  I'm hoping for these:

Zam Wessel resculpt
Dooku's pilot droid
Clone Trooper Captain (evolutions sculpt)
Eeth Koth
Padme - Arena battle
"Call up a Hammerhead Corvette.  I have an idea."

I agree, I think Dooku might be a strong candidate for this wave too.

I agree with what Pete said above, I think Hasbro specifically mentioning Zam was a tease that she will be coming in this wave.

Thinking back, the figure I'd like most from this film is a very weel made Anakin in poncho from Naboo.

Then if we get peasant Anakin, I'd want to have Catholic Saint Padme to go with him.

Then again, she'd just be another salt shaker figure. But cheap for Hasbro to make, due to the limited articulation...

Please Hasbro no more useless Padmes.......

How about the Nexxu attack Padme? She needs and updates and works well in action dios.
