Just got a mega haul from BBTS:

1989 Stalker
1990 Salvo
a set of Cobra Island 7-packs (finally!)
Cobra Gunship
Ghost HAWK
wave 1 of classic Combat Heroes
and some 25th army builders- Eel, Snow Serpent, Bazooka Trooper, and a Para-Viper.

And, I received a 1989 Alley Viper yesterday, so all this stuff is really helping make a bad week better. :)

GI Joe Train Concept Prototype

I didn't think this thing actually existed in this form. This would be an incredible piece to own, but I'm willing to bet this thing might hit $10,000. It's at $2,225 right now, and there's still 2 1/2 days to go.

never even heard of that...  It will be interesting to track and see how much it goes for at the end of auction.

The seller is designer/engineer Greg Berndtson.  He was at the 2009 Joecon and displayed this train prototype and others during his presentation.  He's the guy who developed the USS Flagg, HAL, JUMP, Tomahawk, Mauler and many others.  In 1985 he became the design director of the entire line.

What size track does this thing fit on?

I''m not saying I am bidding, I am just interested for argument sake..... like this argument "But Honey, it runs on tracks that are readily available and our son DOES like trains"

It seemed, to me anyway, that the article implied it fit on some kind of Playskool train track that already exists.  Maybe I misread the auction's description though.

I fear a M8 is fading fast.

Never did know about that train.  Very cool.   8)  Wasn't there another standard vinty train set that wasn't compatible with Joes back in the day?  Maybe I'm thinking Transformers   ???

There was a type of train that made it to retail, but it wasn't scaled for the figures. It's on yojoe somewhere.

Fear not... that is still in the works.

But this train fascinates me.

Well, it's a good thing I don't gamble. The auction went for $8,100. Still a pretty big chunk of change, though.

Wave 13 is showing up at Marshall's now-ish. As I don't have a Marshall's near me (only a really cruddy TJ Maxx) I tell you all out of collector's courtesy.  :)

It's hard to say who's getting what anymore. Big Lots, Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx... they've all gotten something or other.  :)
